What We Know: We purchased this car from a gentleman in Montana who had owned it for just over twenty years, having bought it from the second owner out of Rhode Island. The gentleman we bought the car from was an enthusiast who owned only American convertibles; we’ve actually previously bought a LeBaron Turbo Convertible from the same guy, which was a very nice car. As it sits, this car in is excellent condition both cosmetically and mechanically, having been garage-kept and treated well. It’s big, beautiful, and glides down the road like it’s riding on air. The car will come with the original owner’s manual and service manual, which contains the original delivery certificate, confirming the car’s Rhode-Island-based history. The Exterior: Oyster White over blue is the correct colorway, and the car has seen one respray in the late 2000s. Paint presents very, very well. There are minimal signs of age and the white/blue colorway suits the car nicely. Paint blemishes are limited to a couple small chips along the driver’s side hood crease, though those have since been touched up and are hardly visible. Chrome is excellent throughout, with just one small ding on the lower driver’s side rocker trim. Light blue convertible top is in excellent shape, with no stains, fading, or damage. Light blue boot cover has a small tear in the forward driver’s corner, where it meets the corner of the backseat. Wheels are in nice shape, with no curb rash. Tires have lots of tread left and show no dry rot, though look to be older units. As you’ll notice in the photos, the “E” from the “CHRYSLER” badge on the front is missing; this part has since been ordered. The car will be sold with the correct “E”, rather than the sticker shown in the photos. The body is in excellent shape, with no dings or dents. Overall, this car is phenomenally well-presented. The Interior: The two-tone blue cabin is a great place to be; this car is extremely comfortable and the view of the dash from the driver’s seat is just great, as you’ll note from the photos. The interior is in fantastic shape; blemishes include a small crack at the front corner of the door panel arm rest on both driver and passenger side, as well as a couple hairline cracks in the original steering wheel. Both front and rear seats are free of any tears, scuffs, or fading. Roll up windows track nicely all around. Powered top is functional, as is the original radio, all lights and signals, wipers, fan and defrost, and all gauges (including aftermarket oil pressure, temperature, and MPG gauges mounted under the dash). Dash is free of cracks or sun-bleaching. Odometer reads 45,238 miles and is believed to be accurate based on ownership history and mechanical condition, though the odometer is 5 digits, so we can only be 99% sure mileage is actual. Under the Hood / Under the Car: This car retains its original 5.9L 361cid V8 (#2205712-4, rated at 265hp) and 3-speed automatic. It feels truly excellent on the road; there are absolutely no tendencies or noises of concern. The car tracks straight under both acceleration and braking, steering is light and direct, brakes are responsive and effective, and the suspension is extremely supple and forgiving. Underneath, the car is in fantastic shape. There is no through rust to be found anywhere. Frame rails and floors are perfectly dry and intact. It’s very apparent that this car has always been garage-kept. Please reach out to Jake at Evolve Motors / Chicago Car Club at 773-303-6122 with any further questions or requests.
