1959 Chrysler 300 Series Description
1959 Chrysler 300 Series "300E"The Chrysler 300 "letter series" are high-performance personal luxuary cars that were built by Chrysler in U.S. from 1955 to 1965. After the initial year, witch was named 300C, successive model years were given the next letter of the alphabet as a suffix marking the 1959 300E, the lowest production and therefore the rarest of the letter cars.
What distinguishes the 1959 model year was Chrysler's new Golden Lion wedge head V8 at 41 cu. in. displacement. Power output was about 380 HP. Total sales of the coupes was 1959 only 522 units. Swivel seat was standard. This splendid, highly original example of the 300E is finish in its original Copper Spice Fire Glow paint, witch makes this a survivor, witch many collectors prefer to fully restored car. The saying is (it can only be original once).
Power is via the 413 cubic inch wedge V8 backed by a Torque Flite push bottom transmission. There is tinted glass all around and 6-way power seats, power windows, power steering and brakes. This example futures two very rare options: Cruise control and Autronic eye.
This car drives beautifully, able to outpace even modern cars on the highway, with a taut, nimble suspension for such a large car.If only 522 coupes were built, image how few survivor exist today. This is not every day something like this comes on the market.
