1948 Chrysler Town And Country Convertible Woody
1948 Chrysler Town & Country Description
Here is a one family owned early Hot Rod find. Bought new in 1948 at Great Falls, ontana Chrysler dealer by current owners father. In 1954 the car was given to the current owner as a graduation present and he has owned it since that day. In 1957 the car was taken in to the dealership for a oil change and somehow they forgot to put oil back in the original straight 8 and it destroyed the motor. That was when they decided to go Hot Rod route with the car. They found a new 1957 Olds that had been in a accident and was being totaled out so they purchased the engine and transmission. Then to go with the Hot Rod engine they removed the door handles and key holes for the smooth look and had head light brows leaded in. Dual spotlights and dual exhaust also added to the custom Hot Rod look. The car was stripped to metal and painted the Metallic Burgundy approx. 35 years ago. Leather interior was added 10 years ago. The engine was professionally rebuilt roughly 4-500 miles ago. Originally the car was Noel Green in color. I am helping the 79 year old owner sell the car. He would like to see it go to a good home as this car has been a big part of his life. Also the car is for sale locally, o we reserve the right to stop the auction at any time. If you have any questions please email or call and I will try my best to answer them or call the owner and try to get the correct answers. Rob 406-868-3467
