1950 Chrysler New Yorker 8
1950 Chrysler New Yorker Description
I am selling this 1950 Chrysler New Yorker (senior model) that I have owned since 1976. It has been stored inside in my shop buildings 90% of the time all those years, I had run it occasionally. I had installed a new head gasket shortly after I got it with the good kind of copper/asbestos gasket and had the head milled .005 to make sure it was true. Newer exhaust system installed awhile back, quiet muffler. Brakes will need new rubber seals in them due to long storage. If brakes were up, it could be driven on the road, fuel pump is marginal. Interior useable as is. No broken out glass. Overall a very solid car. Always dry since 1983. Newer 6 volt battery. Generator is charging. Oil pressure within factory specs, 35 - 40 pounds. I have a video of it running on YouTube, search for 1950 Chrysler New Yorker, I am hottrodscars on YouTube. Tires are quite old but hold air ok. I am offering the Chrysler now unrestored. If I paint it with the original dark red paint for 1950 Chrysler, and rebuild the brakes, the price at that time would be $12,000. Back in the 70's, I replaced all the tubes in the radio and back then it worked fine. May have a sticky vibrator unit in it now, I don't know. I also have the Chrysler advertised locally so reserve the right to sell it locally as well. If you have questions, call me at 815-420-5068, I am in rural Rockford, IL., 80 miles northwest of Chicago, or 85 miles southwest of Milwaukee, WI. I will be selling off various antique cars from my 60 car collection due to age. I would allow ample time for you to have the car picked up, lets say within 6 months time or so, it would remain in inside storage also. The Chrysler has always been winterized with anti-freeze to 30 below zero.
