1971 Citroën Pallas Description

I have owned this car for sixteen years. I purchased it in the year 2000 from the original owner (an engineer at JPL "Jet Propelsion Lab" in Burbank. It is a virtually totally rust free California car. A US model sold new in Los Angeles. NO ACCIDENT DAMAGE. This car has probably done less than 1000 miles since 2000. It has been part of my fleet of picture vehicles in Los Angeles. (see double u double u double u dot eurofilmcars dot com. It has appeared in numerous films, commercials and TV series. There has been a lot of chat and discussion about the Mentalist car on the internet so here is the definitive history. The car was used about fifteen to twenty times for the show's first year. It was always transported to the set for safety reasons. It is a genuine DS21 PALLAS. For the second season CBS acquired from Warner Bros a 1972 Euro spec RED DS20 that was used in Germany for the 2008 movie "Speed racer". It was air freighted to California ($$$!!!) and was painted a close match to the original car. The original car worked a few times in following seasons when filming was on different sets at the same time and when the Euro car had problems. Many Citroen aficionados noticed the difference with the tail lights and covered headlights. This car is a stick shift. The second car is a Citromatic model. After owning the car for a few years I found out that this car has a DS20 ENGINE. I lost touch with the original owner so was never able to find out why the engine was changed. This car is in the same condition as when it was the Mentalist car. There is a small crease in the left rear door and some paint bubbling on the lower left side of the trunk (a common DS problem when damp stays in the foam style trunk seal). See photos. The rear view mirror is removed (but included) for camera angles and the Pallas head rests were not used during filming. One of the plastic Pallas air horn trumpets is broken and the car is missing the windshield water reservoir and electric pump. The left rear tie down has been torn off by an over zealous studio transport driver. The headliner is removed but a brand new one from France is included. I recently installed four brand new suspension spheres and new tail pipes with a Pallas resonator. Clear California title in my name.
