1965 CITROEN DS19 DS19 CITROMATIC Description

Other Makes . Condition is Used. 75,104 indicated mileage. Left rear corner of trunk hit by lawyer on phone. Car was driven home as impact did not affect driveability at all. Right front fender and front door damage occurred during storage prior to my purchasing it. I restored driveability to get it home. Car comes with used replacement left rear fender, trunklid, rear light panel and lights plus replacement bumper parts to help restore this car. Parts will need to be installed by new owner. Spare tire, jacking stand, lugwrench and original crank handle and shaft come with car, along with relinable set of front disc pads. Undented right front fender and front doors can be purchased if car buyer prefers for $100 each additional, from seller to replace damaged ones on car. Horn doesn't work nor turnsigs - probably due to rear lights missing. Horn wiring needs checking. I haven't had time to fix these as I lost my storage due to storage yard downsizing. Transmission works smoothly in all gears. Air duct to radiator will be back in car when sold.
Car's hydropneumatic suspension with built-in jacking works fine, automatic load-leveling, power rack steering, variable ground clearance - brakes may need to be freed up but parking brake works. Headliner needs replacing, engine starts easily, dash top has cracks, gas gauge stuck but is easily fixed with new float. Car has modern internally regulated alternator I installed for better electric power & reliability & simpler wiring (no buzzbox V regulator). Car also has front mounted pressure regulator near DOT 3 brake fluid reservoir, for very easy access and service. Prev. owner had Citroen dealer install Frantz toilet paper roll oil filter with pressure gauge to protect engine.
New tires are easily and reasonably priced from Longstone Tire in the UK, with delivery in one week stateside with no shipping charge. I have used them for several years for several cars and they're an excellent supplier. Always use tubes in these Michelin X radials. The superb ride and interior seating comfort of these Citroens has to be experienced to be understood - their design is still head and shoulders above many modern cars. Noisy they are compared to today's cars, but they are one of the most iconic cars ever built, with more ingenious features than many cars today. In comparison to a Tesla, the Citroen DS comes out head and shoulders above that car in total innovation in a single vehicle. This DS has clear Michigan title, but has never left California. Chassis is in very good condition. I titled it in Mich. as that's my permanent home, but car has always been in Ca. I bought it in Stockton from original SF bay area family owning car. It was my daily driver until hit. I would have repaired it myself but lost access to shop. Buyer can contact me after purchase for advice if necessary as I've been driving & servicing Citroens of all types for 58 yrs myself and for other club members. Past Pres. Chicago Citroen Club 1968, 1977. Ask questions before purchase - no warranty, no return on this sale. Car located in San Jose Ca. Needs to be towed or trailered home as I haven't had time to make sure the brakes are operating properly and of course it doesn't have rear lights.
