1969 Cord Warrior SAMCO Description

SAMCO (Sports Automobile Manufacturing Company) was established in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Bill Lear of Learjet fame, in the late 1960's. His plan was to offer two distinct Cord models, the Royale and the Warrior. His intent was not to offer these in high volume or to sell these cars in kit form. Each car was hand-built ah his factory. Approximately 400 SAMCO Cords were produced and found their way to our roads.
The 1969 SAMCO Cord Warrior offered here is attractively finished in Yucatan Yellow over a tan interior. The car is powered by its Ford 302 Cobra V8, automatic transmission and rear wheel drive. It features power steering, power windows, air conditioning, factory wood steering wheel, wood dash fascia, VDO gauges, wire wheel covers, leatherette interior, bucket seats, rear bench seat, and the signature exterior "faux" exhaust pipes to replicate the Cord 812.
Mechanically, the healthy 302 V8 provides plenty of power as it pulls very strong, the automatic transmission shifts smoothly and the car brakes straight. The mileage of this cord is unknown, the digital display odometer shows 54 miles. That said, the car remains original from the factory and overall in great condition. The original Yucatan Yellow paint remains glossy, not free from defects, but overall excellent. The original interior is clean and shows very little wear.
To this day, the Cord Supercharged 812, I one of the most beautifully designed car of all time, and the most advanced car of its day. The SAMCO continuation cars of this model capture the lines and overall design of the iconic 812. The car here has been part of a private collection for many years and is ready for immediate enjoyment.
