Sometimes great things come in small packages, and the '73 Datsun Sunny presented here is certainly one of them.

A California car from new, it still wears its original, 1973-issue California blue-and-yellow license plate with pride.
A rare car in Japan, rarer even in the United States, this B110 was elaborately set up to run as a land speed race car, to fly over the El Mirage Dry Lake and the Bonneville Salt Flats.
The fates intervened, and after a bag full of $100 bills was spent, the project stalled and Agent Orange patiently waited under a car cover for his call to duty. It never happened, and eventually the car ended up with us. We revieved the car, sorted it, and are hoping to find a suitable caretaker for it.
Datsun comes with impressive stack of documentation.
Original sales information, confirming that the car was originally sold on July 5, 1973 at Miller Imports, Inc. in Van Nuys, Calif., is included. Also listed is the engine number.
The car's original 1.2 liter engine was fully rebuilt. It received an upgraded and decked head with custom grind cam, a custom intake topped off by a stock carburetor, and a 4-into-1 long-tube header. A new clutch with new clutch master and slave cylinders connect it to a stock 4-speed transmission.
The entire drivetrain is in primo condition, healthy like the proverbial ox, with no ill behavior or fluid leaks to report.
The car weighs a mere 1,600 lbs, and has an aggressive stance.
Shoes consists of 15x5 steel wheels with aluminum disc caps and Dzeus fasteners, shod with unused Mickey Thompson land speed tires on all four corners.
Interior features a full roll cage, Kirkley aluminum racing seat and, and a 5 point harness for the driver. The passenger enjoys the comfort of a genuine leather seat, originally mounted in a British roadster.
Rear compartment is fully covered by hand-built aluminum panels.

Details . . .
The car has an utterly straight, 100% rust and accident free body. The paint is sun faded, but there's still some of the original red paint peeking through.
Roll cage extends into the trunk. Note quick-fill alumimum fuel cell.
Unmolested original undercarriage.
This Datsun comes with a clean California Certificate of Title. It's smog exempt in the Golden State and can be driven on the street, be used for local track days, become an autocross warrier, or do what it was built for: go as fast as possible in a straight line.
Also included is a stack of original parts, including, but not shown, another set of front wheels, already modified to accept Moon disc covers with Dzeus fasteners.
A rare car, nicely sorted, offered for considerably less than the money invested.
