EXTERIOR:
Paint is mostly original, the doors re sprayed when the elephant ear tow mirrors were removed.
There is a dent in the passenger rocker panel and a scrape on the lower portion of the bed on the passenger side as well.
Other than those two items there is only typical dings for a truck of this vintage.
This truck isNOT rusty, there are small spots that are starting to bubble in the paint along the rocker and in the bed side but these are very minor and a testament to the fact that this truck is a survivor. your not going to find any surprises, the undercarriage and frame are in excellent shape and the floor pans are solid as well.
The truck has the more attractive early style grille and emblem and a sheet metal period style air dam.
Color matched bed liner.
INTERIOR:
The interior of this truck isin incredible condition, all the factory panels areintact and have been re dyedor wrapped in a quality vinyl.
The dash was removed for the installation of the cap and it fits great! installed the rare and impossibly expensive factory tachometer.
It has all new carpets and custom made floor mats.
Factory heater, defroster and air ventilation systems work.
Entire cabin from floors to rear window has been sound insulated with Hush mat. (more on that when we get to the audio portion)
Headliner and seats are in great condition. New safer seat belts were installed.
All glass isgood and the rear sliding window and door glass all functionsmoothly.
Factory jack, tool kit and tire irons are there as well as their rare leather covers and tool pouches.
Nardi wood grain steering wheel on Oem 720 ST steering hub (factory part retains blinker
canceller).
CustomHand made Datsun shift knob.
AUDIO:
Interior of cabin has been insulated with Hush Mat. (pics of install included)
Head unit is the Pioneer 80 PRS with built in processor
Amplifier is the Kenwood Excelon Kr900-5 five channel amplifier
Focal 6.5 coaxial speakersin custom kick panels
Gladen SQX 10' in a Probox sealed enclosure.
Allpower cables are pro line quality as the system was built for sound quality.
The entire system was adjusted on a scope and RTA.
SUSPENSION AND DRIVE LINE:
Truck has had front suspension, ball joints, tie rod, steering links replaced.
Truck has been lowered up front with a re index of the torsion bars and the front shocks are kyb pinto units.
Rear hasbeen lowered with blocks and proper pinionwedges to keep the drive shaft happy.
New u joints installed in the drive shaft as well as the new carrier bearing assembly.
The 78 has front power disc brakes and it actually stops pretty well.
Brand new Kuhmo tires and new Chevy rally steel wheels color matched to the body.
Long ratio 5spd out of the 81 Datsun 280zx that I managed to find in almost new condition. the shifter bushings are new and the transmission shifts beautifully. no sloppy wobble or hard shifting.
Exedy clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing as well as new clutch master and slave cylinders.
