1966 Datsun Fairlady. I am the 2nd owner and purchased it on January 18, 1973. It received new exterior paint, top, recovered seats and deck as well as new carpet in 1982. The bumpers were re-chromed in 1982. The passenger door was replaced in 1974 because it got bent open too far when it caught the side of my carport post. There was no other damage to the car from that incident. Found one in very good condition from a wrecking yard before it was painted. Because of that the original keys do not work for that lock so it needs to be locked from the inside. And the color is slightly different. If you plan on doing a full restoration you will want to paint them anyway as the interior has not been repainted. Few cracks in the dash which are pictured. And there is a small scratch on the driver side front fender which is pictured. It has been garage kept ever since it was painted. Thats why the body is in such great condition. Doors, hood and trunk all open and close very easily. Grill needs to be cleaned up or possibly re-chromed as do the running boards pictured ( I think that’s what you call them). Passenger door sticks from the inside but not when you open from the outside. Probably an adjustment with the inside door handle mechanism. But as I said earlier, it locks from the inside just fine. New water pump in 1984. Engine has 112,818 miles as of this listing. It is not being driven much now since the brake lights are not working and honestly it hasn't been driven much the last 10 years mostly because of not having the time for leisurely Sunday drives. It had 77,539 miles on it when I purchased it. Tuned up on August 1st, 2014 and it runs great. Clutch slips a little. The mechanic that has done work on it says I need a new alternator so I am looking for one at this time. It still works but is probably on it’s last legs. New set of carbs in 2007. Radio isn’t working but I’m not sure it just doesn’t need to be wired up. I had an 8 track hooked up back in the 70’s when I was driving it everyday. When I took it out I don’t remember hooking the radio back up. Fuel gauge and water gauge are not working. Haven’t checked all the fuses and wires under the dash. Could be as simple as that. All the wiring is original so there are things that probably need to be addressed there. Needs new choke cable. Custom steering wheel is pictured. I do not have the original. Custom rims were put on in 1974. New tires in 2015. I do have the original rims. I have the original tonneau cover and boot and they are in really good condition. I have treated this car with great care through the years. Especially since it was repainted. I would like to see it go to a buyer who will do the same. Selling “as is”. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. If you check out a Hagerty price guide, this car in mint condition can go for over $30,000.
