1973 Datsun Z-Series 240Z Description

1973 Datsun 240 Z-series! No Reserve!
An extremely solid original and highly desired series Z car with no rust and good condition all around. The values seem to keep climbing so a collector has decided to let this classic go to someone who can get more enjoyment our of it. Super fun car to drive (speaking from experience). Whether your a new enthusiast or a true collector, this car is fitting as its easy to drive and control for a car without power steering, sounds fantastic from start through all gears. Control the idle from the middle console with throttle start capabilities. The throttle start revs up to a tough 3k at its highest or simmers down to a cool and confident 800 at lowest. The car is tuned well but is easily workable even for a beginner mechanic with a little willpower, and a cinch to work on for an old gear head. This car has been repainted in 2003 to the original iconic Datsun orange. The original Datsun wheels, floors, glass, and others have been maintained well through garage only keep. Some of the coolest Datsun steering wheel and shifter knob combo you will ever see in very fine condition maintaining good color. The body is in pretty impressive condition for its age with only subtle spots of imperfection. Two of the noticeable imperfections photoed closely but questions welcome. The rest is very minor surface imperfections- no major dents, bumps, dings, scratch. A few very small touch-up-able chips the size of a couple ink pen heads.
The interior is in good condition - seats, carpet, headliner all look good. Nice and clean and shows some signs of patina and wear but no issues distasteful enough not to be overlooked. The owners have clearly kept the car in very good overall condition, especially considering these cars are renowned for bad condition issues. There are three cracks in dash (photoed) which may be taken care of easily with NOS or retrofit re-pop dash. Small cracking approx one inch in center console flip up lid, very easily replaceable or repairable. Newer stereo was installed but its not so good for a true sound guy, but if the motor matters more then its no big deal but looks like an early 2000's install with detachable face. Strap a new system in to get the sound on the inside competing with sound and attention on the outside. Always always always turns heads, starts conversations, and gets lots of attention at show. A couple little finishing touches away from a real beautiful classic that's way better than average as is but could be a truly top tier Datsun with just a little attention.
These cars are regularly bringing $12-20k at any given major auction and are continually moving up in value. This specific car comes with tons of original documentation and there are several dozen pieces of paperwork dating back a few decades ago. Some pretty cool apperwork with car and other collectible material including old manual hand book and original 240z mechanic guidebook. This is a great chance to get a quality and dependable Japanese classic gaining in popularity. Provenance and appreciation are important so please only bid on this passionate collectors ride if you are a serious buyer, can give the car a good home, and realize what this is in automobile history. Cant say enough about this exceptional machine.
