1977 Datsun Z-Series Description

There are countless Datsun Z's out there on the market but rarely you come across a fully documented unmodifiedZ.Only to be registered to the original owner "old man from Pasadena" ( literally true story).This is the story of a man & his love for his car.Before marriage & kids, it was just his Datsun & himself.
I am pleased to present this 1977 Datsun 280Z first time for sale publicly anyway since August 8th of 1977.PLEASE Read Entire Ad / View Photos Before Bidding or Asking Questions!

Summer of 1977 - Edward was an police officer at the time working for the Los Angeles County. He was in need of a new car & could not make up his mind on either a Z or a Volkswagen Rabbit. He called his girlfriend (now wife) & asked her. She said go for the sporty car ( thank God).
August 8th 1977 - He went over to Pasadena Datsun as he lived about 20 mins from the dealer. He ended up choosing a New Light Blue Metallic 5 Speed Coupe. He was talked into by the salesman to add dealer installed options. Adding Air Condition, a Window Louver, Bolton Side Moldings, Western Mags, Front & Rear Guards, undercoating & purchasing the 50K mile extended warranty. Total amount of $8,771 including tax. A cashier check deposit of $2,285 from Bank Of America was given the following day until the car was ready.
August 15th 1977 - The Z was delivered & driven home. A cashier check from Bank of America was given to the Datsun Dealer for the remaining balance paying in one sum.
Thru out the next years, Edward would baby the Z. Receipts showing purchasing a dash cover in 1977 & a bra for the front (still have in the trunk compartment). Installing a green 70's shag carpet in his garage where it would recede for the next 4 decades. His wife mention "he would wash it once a week, drive it to work, come back home into to the garage, dust it off & put the cover back on it - then repeat". They drove off in it when they was married in 1978 & there kids grew up driving around in the rear compartment. In recent years it was driven less and less.
Close to 43 years later - Ed is now retired & they finally came to the conclusion it was time to "for it to start a new family" Mentioning it was so much easier to get in & out of it when we was young.

Might be the most documented Z out there. The owner kept everything from the receipts from Bank Of America plus a Datsun receipt of it being paid off. ALL Dealer Paperwork & Booklets | Spare & tool Kit has never been touched

1977 Datsun 280Z Coupe Numbers Matching L28 w/ factory optional 5 Speed Manual.Desirable Light Blue with Black Interior
Remains 100% stock, never modifiedor taken apart. Down to the original radio - its left original.Owner has documented the miles since day 1 & it has turned over twice. The original engine has been taken care of & recentlywent thru a full tune up. The air conditioningwas upgradedto R134 & blows colder then my 2013 car.
Remained its entire life in Los Angeles in a garage when not being driven,Its a real deal documentedPasadena California car.Still retains its original Blue & Yellow plates (look at there condition). Solid original body, factory floors - rockers inner wells. Has 2 small bubbles on the rockers (one on each side in exact spot).
Never to have been in a accident as mentionedby the original owner. Repainted once in 2008 its original color & the front chairs / carpet was installed. The crack-less dash is original and had the original cover on it up until last week. All The original glass is in place except the front windshield.
Overall, this is a 280Z that you can drive daily anywhere just as the original owner did. It was well taken care of and is roadworthy. By no means this is a restored car but a unrestored time capsule.
Cons: Radio turns on but just buzzes & Antenna motor works but doesn'tgo up. The console lid clicks in sometimes, works when it wants to.
The original owner Ed & his wife. All Three have been together since 43 years. They shared stories of date nights, trips & there love for there Z.
