1972 Datsun 510 Description

Very nice Datsun 510 SCCA race car, been a race car most of its life, I think the log books go back to 1978? Set up and well sorted ready to race in SCCA or vintage racing.Has a new 5 speed ZXtransmissionand a 2 liter plus engine....gobs oftorque pulls the hill at Road Atlanta around 115. make a great vintage car as the motor that is in itdoesn't exactly meet ITC SCCA rules. The car is really solid for a 510, no rust anywhere, body is solid but does have a new rear clip on it after a shunt at Road Atlanta, work was done 15 years ago and is holding up well with no problems. This is NOT an original Bob Sharp car but was painted in his livery with his permission looks great...especially at 100 miles an hour! I know of no issues with the car, my son just completed his first season of racing and the car ran flawlessly with the exception of a head gasket earlylast year. Never less than 2 place, very competitive little race car (have to give my son a lot of credit too)! It would not take too much to make this car street legal, needs the turnsignals hooked up head lights are in but need wiring and a muffler? there is no title, car is sold with log books and a billof sale only. there is a parts car with 2 good rear ends, windshield, 1600 engine (boat anchor now but could be rebuilt)transmission, andsuspensionpieces, it was thedonor car for the rear clip,so it has been sitting around for like 15 years still a lot of good parts on it winning bidder may have both cars. I'm sorry I don't have pictures of the inside or motor right now.
