This 1981 Delorean DMC-12 is a well maintained driving example. All systems have been well maintained which makes this a nice turn-key car. This is a pretty early VIN, #968 (Manufactured in April of 81') which has early rare darker grey wheels, gas flap and grooved hood, also black interior.
This DMC-12 was sold new at Sunshine Cadillacin Seattle WA in 1981, it was then sold to the 2nd owner in 1987 and moved to Oregon. In 2008 it was sold to its third owner who kept it in Southern Oregon until recently.
The body and frameon this Delorean is totally rust free and very straight. (We took 20 photos of the undercarriage) It has a clean carfaxand the undercarriageis free from any corrosion. There is a small ding with small dents on the front right side of the hood, see photos, I'm sure this can be fixed. The side panels and top have really nice gaps and the doors open and close with ease. The doors, trunk and hood had new strutsinstalled in 2016.
All electronicswork in this Delorean. Horn, wipers, lights, light dimmer and door lights all functionas they should. The AM/FM radio works as well along with the turn signalsand brights. All electronics function as they should! The mirror adjustments need replacing.
The interiorin this Delorean in in fabulous shape with only minor wear on the seats. The dash is perfect and the door panels and kicker panels are in great shape. The headliner is a little saggy in a few spots but it's not noticeable. Overall conditionof the interioris a 9/10.
This Delorean fires right up from cold, please see the cold start video and driving videos. Once warm it idles nicely at 950 rpms. It drives nice and straight, hits 70 mph with ease (not terribly fast) and doesn't hesitate during acceleration.Tires could be freshened up, they were bought in 2009.This is a smooth running and driving Delorean, you will not be dissapointed.
The brakes function as they should, brakes were done in 2015, only 2200 miles since then.
This Delorean comes with 2 sets of keys, a clean Oregon Title and lot's of ownership documents and paperwork.
