1957 DeSoto Explorer Description

NO RESERVE
I had this car offered for sale on e-bay in July 2020 and it was sold. However, the buyer never sent the money except his deposit. 6 Months of excuses!
I purchased this car five years ago with the intention of having it restored as I have done with many other cars during my 30 years of collecting. I have serious health issues and no ability to oversee another restoration!
The car was sold new in Albuquerque, NM. This car lived there all its life until the man I bought it from purchased it with the intent of also having it restored. Since he intended for this to be his forever car to pull his 15 ft. Airstream trailer he accumulated an unbelievable collection of parts in case he ever needed them due to an accident or whatever. The parts fill the entire car to the point I can't get in the car to see them all. I know he told me the parts included, but were not limited to, another windshield, driveshaft, radiator, brake parts, and on and on.
Other than surface rust, the only rust through are the bottom of the rear quarters behind the wheel openings (not bad) and the outer part of the rockers. There is absolutely no rust through on the front fenders, the 4 doors, the hood, the tailgate and the roof. I can't see the floorboards because of all the parts. The paint is original and appears there has been no prior rust through or body repairs in the past. Engine with prior owner but had a miss. I have not tried to start it but it is free. Car does have Power Steering and Power Brakes. Rare 9 passenger Explorer wagon.
