1958 DeSoto Firesweep Description

I am the sole owner of this vehicle and not any hack websites!! I do not authorize the use of my listing or pictures for anyone's use. Bid with confidence!!

Here is a 58 Firesweep 2 door hardtop that runs and drives very good. These are getting harder to find in decent condition. Has the 350 engine with pushbutton automatic transmission. I have a bunch of paperwork with the car. Has brand new fuel system including gas tank, sending unit, fuel line, fuel pump, fuel filter and carb. All new brakes from rear to front. Including wheel cylinders, hardware, brake lines, brake shoes, disc brake conversion in front. The body is straight and solid. There is some bubbling in both rocker panels but nothing major. The paint looks good from 10' away but not perfect. This is a driver in good condition and would be a very good ride to restore. Interior needs restored. Has new carpet. Some of the interior needs reinstalled. Cardboard headliner is out of car but all the rails that hold it up are still in the car. The motor runs great. New plugs, wires, cap, points, coil, oil change, radiator flushed andnew thermostat. Transmission shifts great. Runs down the road at 60 mph just fine. Manual brakes but stops fine. Manual steering but has new tie rod assembly on both sides. Driver side installed. have not installed passenger side. I added a photo of a 4 door that has the factory colors for my 2 door. It is NOT my car only showing its correct colors.

The car is missing some items like, drip rail moldings, Sportsman Scripts for fenders, Desoto letters for trunk lid, Hood ornament and emblem. I have the Desoto hood letters and Firesweep quarter panel scripts. The front bumper has a dent right in the center. The back bumper has two dents from improper jack use. The front windshield has some bubbling and some smoking around the edge but does not affect the view. Have two sets of mirrors. Was moved to door location. Both doors have had dummy spot lights mounted on them. Two small screw holes still there, mirrors mounted to doors, so two holes there. All the lights outside work. Dash lights and gas gauge not working. Have new bulbs but not installed. Floors were patched years ago but still solid. Trunk and frame very solid. Again this is a running and driving car. Rolls, stops and steers good. Could use a restoration or just drive it like it is. Gets a LOT of attention. If you don't see an area of interest in the pictures let me know. I can send you additional pictures. Any questions feel free to ask. Car is available for inspection as well. Will assist in loading on carrier. Car is stored indoors and can stay there until being picked up.
