1987 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z
1987 Dodge Daytona Description
I am the second owner of this beautiful 1987 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z. The original owner specially ordered this car from Dodge in 1987 and he is a Mopar guy at heart (he has owned performance mopar cars since the 60’s). The car has been garage kept its entire life and has been extremely well maintained. I bought the car 2 years ago with 69k miles and now it have a little over 70K. As soon as I got the car, I had the following items done at Forward Motion in located in Delaware:
Installed new fuel injectors
Installed new spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor
Installed new Mopar performance stage II computer (P5249671)
Flush and replace brake fluid
Flush and replace transmission fluid
Replace all radiator hoses and heater hoses
Recharged A/C system
Installed 255 LPH fuel pump and fuel filter
Installed new timing belt
Installed new sway bar bushings
Installed new KYB struts and shocks
Installed new Kumho 225/50-15 tires
I wanted to make sure the entire car was freshened up mechanically regardless if it really needed it or not. A new clutch/pressure plate was installed at 63k miles according to the previous owner. In addition to all the mechanical work that I have done, I also had the following exterior work completed:
Paint the Front/Rear bumper
Paint the Ground Effects both left and right side
Paint the Quarter Panels both left and right side
Paint both Front Fenders
Replace the red pinstripe on trim around car
Paint the wheels
I had those items painted to make the car look perfect in my eyes. All other body parts have the original paint. I have only put roughly 1K miles on the car since I have owned it and I really love the car. Everything works as it should on car – A/C, power windows, power seats, radio, etc. The car drives very nice down the road and you could drive it anywhere. I only drove the car on nice days and to local cars and coffee meet ups. Amazing to see a lot of people come up to me and say how much they loved these cars in the 80’s. I really don’t want to sell the car, but I want to get something that my wife can drive and enjoy as well. Since I have owned the car, it has been in a garage with a California car cover always on the car. The car cover will come with the sale of the car.
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about the car. The car is located 30 minutes from Philadelphia.
