1967 Dodge Coronet Description

There's just something about a classic Mopar that makes you pay attention, especially with this 1967 Dodge Coronet R/T. It's not just the big 440 V8 or the valuable options. This one gets you with the details, like unique paint that shows off all the square-jawed angles we all love on this American muscle.Metallic Turquoise is particularly nice when it's done correctly. The respray of the factory color leaves this coupe looking clean and pristine. But it takes more than the paintwork to be this nice. The sheetmetal is straight and in good shape, with doors that you can close with confidence. All the right brightwork is in place, including the extra wide chrome bumpers and that electric shaver-style grille that looks even bolder and wider when repeated on the rear. Overall, Dodge really got the design right in '67 with a wide stance that can make this intermediate look full-sized. There's plenty of style touches like the creases along the side that flare out on the quarters. All if makes this one look quite aggressive, which is a good thing on this factory R/T. Not only was this the sportiest version of the Coronet (with less than 10,000 R/T hardtop coupes produced in '67,) but also you have to love the intimidating touches like the special hood with red louvers, all that badging, and the Magnum 500 wheels. As the most expensive car in the Coronet line, there were plenty of luxury touches added in with the performance package. You see it perfectly on how the front bench can be used for offering seating for six total or you can fold down the center armrest for bucket seat comfort. This Mopar seems to carry most of its original components from the seats, to the door panels, to the headliner - all of which have held up quite nicely for its age. The extra wide dash is pure '60s cool, and it has plenty of room for the extra wide speedometer with plenty of room left over for the heat/defrost and factory AM/FM radio. But this coupe has a bit more going for it. The full set of auxiliary readouts and column-mounted tach reminding you this is an R/T. It's this kind of performance anticipation that gives you a little tingle as you grab the factory wheel and twist the key.As a true R/T coupe, you'll be happy to see a proper 440 cubic-inch V8 under the hood. Besides just the show-worthy shine on the valve covers and Magnum air grabber, this Mopar big block has received plenty of care during restoration. You can see it in the total presentation, right down to the condition of the belts, wires, and hoses. Topped with a proper four-barrel carburetor, the 440 makes its power known through the mighty roar of the dual exhaust. Power steering, power brakes, and a limited slip rear end are welcome additions to a car that can gather speed like this one can, and the new Torque Flite three-speed automatic transmission always seems to find the right gear when you need it. So you've got big power and reliable components in an easy driving package.Complete with all the paperwork you could want, including original warranty card, owner's manual, maintenance records, and restoration photos, this is great presentation of a rare Mopar. And if you're quick enough, this R/T can be in your garage. Call today!!!
