1924 Dodge Other Description

1924 Dodge Brothers sedan purchased from original owner's (estate of Fred Sheley of NY) family last year. Car was stored and not run since 1956. I did a minor freshening up and had it running within an hour. It has since received a tune up, oil change, greasing. Believe the 49,800 miles on speedometer to be correct. Car is an untouched original right down to the floor mats, window shade, and upholstery (which is very usable as is). Body is very solid with only some surface rust, however, a good sized rot hole developed on the lower right fender caused by a leaky barn. The Dodge always starts up first try even after sitting for weeks. The starter/generator works beautifully and charges well, too. Original 12 volt (yes 12 volt) system. Car handles, drives, shifts and brakes (2 wheel rear brakes) very well, also. Goes down the road smoothly. Lights and gauges work well. No leaks, no smoking or knocking. Five brand new, correct Firestone tires, tubes and flaps have been installed. Purchased from Universal Tire at a cost of $1500. All hub caps and special DB lug nuts are present. Steel wheels, a nice factory option, are in good shape, needing only painting. Fuel system works from vacuum tank on firewall but doesn't draw from the gas tank as it should. Re gasketing the vacuum tank probably would fix it or, if preferred, an electric fuel pump would do the trick. This big, very tall sedan is a real head turner and a fine example of a survivor from the 1920's I do not have a title for this car and can provide only a bill of sale. Car for sale locally, I reserve the right to sell locally. Deposit due within 24 hours. Balance due within 7 days.
