1967 DODGE CORONET 440 COUPE
BOUGHT AND MILDLY RESTORED BY A LOCAL MOPAR COLLECTOR / ENTHUSIAST OVER THE PAST YEAR…. WANTED TO BUILD AN AFFORDABLE CORONET 500 TRIBUTE, THAT CAN BE DRIVEN AND ENJOYED ON CRUISE NIGHTS AND CAR SHOWS.
CAR WAS PAINTED IN TURBINE BRONZE. VERY NICE DRIVER QUALITY PAINT, CAR DOES SHOW SOME MINOR SCRATCHES AND SCRAPES. VERY SOLID FLOORS, TRUNK AND FIREWALL. BODY PANELS – DOORS, TRUNK LID AND HOOD DO OPEN AND SHUT WELL, BUT COULD USE SOME ADJUSTMENT FOR PROPER FIT AND FINISH. PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE / LATCH DOES TEND TO STICK, COULD USE ADJUSTMENT FOR PROPER OPERATION. DECENT GLASS. TRIM IS DRIVER QUALITY- SHOWING SOME AGE, DENTS AND DULLNESS…. OVERALL EXTERIOR COULD REALLY USE A CLEANING / DETAIL TO MAKE CAR “POP”…
INTERIOR IS VERY CLEAN. GAUGES DO NOT WORK, NEED TO BE ADDRESSED. VERY NICE DASHPAD, DOOR PANELS, SEATS, CARPET AND HEADLINER. WORKING LIGHTS. HORN DOES NOT WORK.
CAR IS POWERED BY AN EARLY 70’S 440ci MOTOR WITH ABOUT 40,000 MILES IN IT ALONG WITH A 727 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION TO A STOCK 8 ¾ REAR. VERY NICE POWER STEERING. MANUAL DRUM BRAKES. CAR STARTS RIGHT UP AND SETTLES TO SMOOTH IDLE. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ENGAGES EASILY WITH SMOOTH SHIFTS. NEWER TIRES WITH PLENTY OF TREADWEAR LEFT.
BECAUSE OF LIMITED TIME AND OTHER PROJECTS, COSIGNER COULDN’T SPEND A LOT OF TIME FINE TUNING THE CAR. WOULD SUGGEST NEW OWNER TO GO OVER CAR / SAFETY CHECK TO MAKE ROAD WORTHY. CAR DOES RUN AND DRIVE, BUT BRAKES FEEL SOFT, NO WORKING GAUGES, ALIGNMENT…ETC…
