Very straight `56 Custom Royal D-500 (HEMI) sedan. coral, charcoal, ivory tri-tone. Equipped with Powerflite auto. trans. (pushbutton), tinted windshield, radio, heater. Standard steering and brakes (non-power assisted). Original headliner, rear seat upholstery/carpet/door panels. I believe it has been repainted once, prior to my ownership. Minor touch-up on the charcoal portion since then. Third owner. Owned 8 years. Have spent approx $14K (receipts) which includes:

This car drives very well. Quiet and smooth and tight. Runs very cool due to new radiator and complete flushing of inside of block when I first acquired it.
The 1956 Dodge D-500 is a very special car, valued at a 35% premium over the identical standard (i.e. non-D-500 model).
Basically, the package consist of:
-Hemi-head, solid valve lifter, higher compression (9.25 vs. 8 to 1) engine. 260 BHP (standard Dodge poly V8 has 230).
-Chrysler New Yorker suspension. Heavy duty springs, steering knuckles, sway bar, 30% larger center-plane brakes, wheels.
-Car sits 1.5 ins. lower than standard Dodge.
