1990 Dodge W250 4x4 Cummins Diesel LE 148,500+ miles ZERO RUST, greatdriving truck
I just completed a 2000+ mile trip in the truck. I'm only sellingbecause I stumbled on a one owner 43,000 mile, mint 1993 Clubcab W250. The previous owner was a retired mechanic thatmaintainedand very much updated the truck with newer brakes, even adding an intercooler, newradiator, steering box, reworked the axles, and a nice quality spray in bedliner (not a junky roll-in type liner). Headded a4” MRBP turbo back exhaust and A/C was converted to the newer stuff. Newer battery and an old school console is what you see mounted by the shifter,I was told the truck had a flatbed on it for years and bed was added approximately 5-6 years ago then the wholetruck was repainted (was red) about 3 years ago according to previous owner. There are some “chips” aroundtheedges but it looks great driving down the road, there is one blemish on the driver’s door. Tires have excellent tread. There is a little bump on front bumper. Please see photos.
This was definitely never a work truck from the interior. Everything works, A/C, power windows/locks, interior lights, all gauges (temperature gauge was converted to analog gauge by PO cause "he did it to all his trucks", radio actually sounds good but I have no idea if cassette works. There are a few marks on drivers door panel and a couple of possible burn spots on the seat but no holes "through". See pics. This truck was in the same family for about the last 10 years and they are were non smokers. I was worried about thisbeforeI bought it but there is no scent ofsmoke. Original carpet is actually in really good shape considering it’s 27 years old. See photos. Even the windshield squirter works as well as the under the hood light. The headliner is sagging, I was planning on fixing until I found this other truck, approx. $125 to replace.
Truck drives/runs extremely well.I'd say this unit steers as good or better than any first generation Dodge I have driven. No shakes or shimmies at 70mph, let go of steering wheel and it drives straight. Brakes straight and quickly. Engine cranks in a ¼ turn of ignition and runs extremely smooth. I just put about 2000 miles on the truck, over several mountain passes and back to Texas in 100+ degree heat with no issue. Truck got20ishmpg or better but is no speed demon. The A/C blows cold but after 500 miles it blew "cool". I had it checked out and it was slightly overcharged so some coolant/freon was removed. A leak under the turbo dripped after I drove 750 miles – buddy said a cheap fix if one choose to replacegasket butthe turboperformanceis unaffected. The cruise control worked a few times but is a real pain in the rear so I just use my foot. 4x4 engages and works fine. I had to put in 4x4 on a steep loose temporary driveway in the New Mexico mountains. It rides like a first generation Dodge, pretty rough but it's a truck. There is an old school trailer brakemounted under dash. Not sure the booster works as I only had a single axled trailer to test (trailer does not have brakes) but the 7 way plugon the bumper works, but the the little plastic flap that covers when not in use is broken in half.
This truck is 27 years old, but it’s pretty darn clean, rock solid, rust free, drives very well, and is not a clapped out work truck. I got a lot of thumbs up by other Dodge owners rolling down the highway on my driveacrosscountry. As solid as this truck is, it's not a mint 43,000 mile one owner that I'm buying so I'm letting this one go.
I don't sell cars for a living, so please ask questions and I'll answer to the best of my ability. I have the title in hand. The truck is being sold without a warranty, expressed or implied. It's a 27 year old Dodge, it's not a new truck. I'm sure it has it's other quirks but I'd drive it cross country tomorrow. I'd pick someone up at theairportif my schedule tolerates. If you get here and the truck is not to your satisfaction, you don't have to buy. Life is short, I'd like a very happy new owner.
The truck is for sale locally, actually I'd prefer it sell locally so the new buyer can see it. I encourage you to see it prior to purchase. Therefore, Iremainthe right to end this auction at any time including prior to the auction. A non-refundable $500 deposit is dueimmediatelyafter the auction via Paypal. The remaining funds are due via wire transfer, cash, or certified funds within 72 hours after the auction. Under no circumstance will the vehicle or title be transferred until all funds clear.
