1971 Dodge Dart SWINGER Description

1971 Dodge Dart Swinger Special
This car started life with a 318 and now is equipped with a 340 and 727 auto. (I am told it is a 727) The car has front and back sway bars and a 8.75 rear end. It's a open rear end and I do not know the gear ratio.

My Best friend bought this car many years ago and has done a few things to it but never put it on the road. He had hopes of one day restoring it. It has 4 new shocks (air shocks in the rear) New fuel tank with all the extras. New performance dual exhaust. The spoiler was bought at the Mopar Nationals, he paid close to 400 for it, and it's adjustable and has all the brackets. The trunk lid on this car even had the dimples in the bottom from the factory to show where to drill for a spoiler.

I do not know a lot of details about the engine. I was told it's a 1971, the original color of the engine is orange. It sounds very good, Sounds like a small cam in it. I drove the car home; about 8 miles and it ran well. I would say that's the most the car has been driven in years. This car is 46 years old and needs restored. I am sure there are good things I have not mentioned and flaws I have not seen but at the end of the day It's still a VERY SOLID 71 DART, HAS A ABOVE AVERAGE BODY, FACTORY PLUM CRAZY PURPLE, HAS 74,000 MILES, HAS A 340 SITTING UNDER THE HOOD. If nothing else, you are buying all the pieces to build that 340 Dart you always wanted.

Has a new Edelbrock Carburetor. Has been converted to electronic ignition. He sent the rally wheels out and had them professionally redone and painted correct color. The two hood scoops where also sent to a shop and redone. Car has 4 new tires, (TA RADIALS) couple new brake hoses and I am sure a bunch of other stuff he failed to mention.
This car is originally Plum Crazy Purple and had a full white Vinyl Top. I have fender tag and build sheet. The body as I said is above average, the quarters have had work, someone started to put partial quarters on it and stopped) and the lower trunk extensions are bad. The frame structure, floor boards, trunk and inner fender are really very good. I would say the car is 85 % rust free or more. The car has 74,000 original miles. I was told all the missing trim is there with the exception of the small piece that goes at top of driver side A piller.

I also want to mention it has power steering and brakes ( 4 wheel drum )
The car interior is complete minus the carpet. This car also has even has two decent extra front fenders that comes with it. They are not perfect but very usable.

This car is being sold as is, no warranty again its a 46 year old car that needs restored. If you have any doubts about what it is please do not buy it.
