1983 Dodge Rampage Prospector
1983 Dodge Other Prospector Description
I purchased this Rampage at the Spring Carlisle show in 2017. Only 8,033 sold in 1983. Since I've owned it I replaced the timing belt and the head gasket (a Carfax Report will be provided). The Rampage won 2nd place at the All Chrysler show in 2016 and has won several awards at local shows in 2017. According to the previous owner, it has 1-Re-Paint about 20 years ago. There are a few very small dings in the paint. There is no rust at all. Very solid truck. It is in show condition as it sits. The paint color is Charcoal Gray Metallic. It has 48,804 original miles on it. There has been a lot of rust proofing done to the vehicle including the engine bay, doors and door jams. I think it was Ziebarted in early life. Radio doesn't work, when I bought the truck I put a cassette tape in and it did not work and when I tried to remove the cassette, it did not eject and is now stuck in the rewind mode. The vehicle has an Automatic transmission and air conditioning (works great). It is a rare Prospector edition and has a rare factory sun roof.
All the following work was done by the previous owner:*Custom fender skirts installed*Wheels were sandblasted and power coated*5 New tires*5 Clip On Portal Walls with attached beauty rings*Replaced window sliders with new rubber*Fabricated dual exhaust system*New Cherry Bomb muffler*New trailer hitch including wiring (I removed the hitch but it can be reinstalled in minutes)*New Webber Carb installed (old one goes with vehicle)*New lug bolts*New vinyl striping including area around rear lights and script on tail gate
This is the second nicest Rampage in the country. The nicest one is in a museum in Ohio.
