I found this car listed for sale last winter in British Columbia,at the same timeI was kicking around visiting my cousins in Portland, Oregon and then a trip to the Spring Fling Mopar show in Los Angeles, California. Struck a deal with the owner that had him driving it from Canada to Seattle, Washington. We met him at the airport and began our epic trip down the coast... And by "we", I mean my wife, 2-y/o daughter and my father. By the end, we'd covered over 1800 miles in a week; fromcold rain to palm trees.
Originally the plan was to ship the car back to my home in Michigan. And then I remembered all my other project cars. So we left it with our friends in Phoenix, Arizona. No sense in shipping it if the ultimate buyer lives in Tucson, right? You will receive a clear Michigan title in my name, so no worries about customs, etc. Now onto the car itself...
Everything you'd want if you were sitting at a Dodge dealer in 1981. 318 4bbl (Canada-only!), all power optionsand thehandling package, 3.23 SG, buckets/console. Last, but not least T-tops! The original interior was tan, but the prior owner swapped it out for a red interior that was in better condition. He didn't swap the dash, but that is included and it's in great shape. Also included are extra parts like a mint Tuff Wheel, extra mirrors, the original Thermoquad (has an Edelbrock now) and a new bumper shock to replace the one that is currently shoved in (no body/bumper damage).
He added some aftermarket gauges but they don't work. It didn't have a radio the whole time we drove it, but there isan original AM/FMin the extra dash. The headliner is toast and I imagine the t-top seals aren't very good either (they're under tape holding up the headliner). Nylon Wiper cam died after being overworked in Oregon rainstorms. Thank God for Rain-X.
Back on the plus side... No rust, looks like one repaint. No body damage of any note (typical dings, chips, etc.) The paint is good enough to save with just a few touch-ups. The soft plastic parts at the front/rear are still soft and un-cracked. Includes the desirable rims on good tires (which show they have no weird wear issues). You won't be chasing down hard-to-find parts and you'll surely be the only Mirada at any cruise night. This is not a "perfect car",but it's obviously reliable and would be a great basis for a project. My reserve price wouldn't cover reproduction wheels for your 'Cuda.
Again, car will ship from the Metro Phoenix Arizona area.
In going through photos, I remembered this car has a couple very small rust bubbles on the right 1/4. That's all, but I wanted to add the pics to be honest.
