1991 Dodge Ramcharger Police Package Description

Here’s your chance to get a true STALWART Truck. Former CHP pkg / Police Pkg vehicle. The last Grille Style (best looking) Project Truck.
This is one I always dreamed of having, but settled for a green forestry version last. Got married, and need to sell this one according to her for our home purchase unfortunately...
Original black CA rustfree TANK. I’m certain that these had tall highway gears in the Dana rear/front ends (I have not been able to check). First I noticed the odd factory side heated mirrors, huge Alternator, and Rear Wiper as CHP package. I’m sure there may be other factory additions I’m unaware of. It does have a factory installed hand operated Warn hub lock-out, and HUGE Ramsey winch & clean FULL wench bumper with push guards. Detroit locker/ Limited Slip in rear end locks up QUICK on gravel I was noticing.
Here is a TRANSPARENT opinion on shape seeing vehicle once: Needs total Restoration. Engine ran strong, but seemed to have a passenger side exaust leak. Seat leaned back to right from bent floorboard. Alignment was off. Steering shaft needs that upgrade kit sold on Jegs *(Borgeson 000940 shaft). Needs shocks. Wipers did not work, but power clicked from switch (may be bad wiper motor). Tranny seemed awesome. I’ve had over a dozen of these and transmissions have to be noticed when buying. Overdrive button works fine. Old school engine light is on, but it was normal for them to stay on (I usually just unplug bulb). I would GUESS it was a 5.9 360ci but it got very decent gas mileage (fuel gauge works), so it COULD be a 5.2 318ci (sticker under hood is missing). EDIT: VIN indicates 5.9 360ci. Previous owner was told it ONLY needed filler tube gasket at top of gas tank to pass CA Emissions test. Complete drivetrain needs lube & fluids etc... Previous owner said 4x4 worked fine. He just paid $464.00 on tags, but had to move. Ask for photos if needed of redacted registration (it shows fees paid). Driver door needs new pin (door sags), & is missing lock knob. Both doors missing upper pad. Driver’s seat missing armrest. Rear hatch needs new lift shocks. Has old CB mounted on upper ceiling. Orig rubber mats need replacing. I’d just carpet front section (they sell front kits online) & leave rear with rear rubber mat that is there. No kick panels, crank windows. Pre-drilled holes in windshield pillars for spot lights. I do have remote for winch (pictured on passenger seat (red in color). I was told it works, but I did not operate it. This is only the second time I’ve seen this odd heated factory mirror (last time was on a former CHP model that an acquaintance REFUSED to sell me). The mirrors are “as rare as a hen’s tooth”...
I drove it 200 miles at 70mph and it wasn’t at a very high RPM. It needs an alignment, shocks & tires to drive smoother (the basics). I would not drive it again at all without an alignment (the short wheelbase makes it a necessity).
This would be a GREAT project for a body shop or body guy. Great unit to add to a car collection..!!!
