1993 Dodge D250 Cummins Extended Cab Automatic
1993 Dodge Other Pickups Description
This is a 1993 D250 with a bone stock intercooled Cummins Inline 6. The engine has been fantastic and the body and frame are in good condition for its age. I have used it as a work truck and daily driver. The truck spent most of its life in Florida before coming to Rhode Island and now Maryland (where it is/has been parked in a covered lot). It currently needs a new transmission dipstick gasket (it is leaking ATF) and a new radiator (cracked). I would recommend towing it though it starts right up, drives and handles as well as can be expected for a D250. There is a small rust hole in the driver's side front quarter panel and a dent with some rust on the opposite quarter panel. The body is not perfect, but still very good as far as first-gens go. It was repainted before I bought it, though some paint is chipping.
Since owning it I have replaced:
- Most of the front-end steering components including the steering box.
- The front and rear shocks (twice).
- Tires (still with lots of tread).
- The fusible links with a single inline fuse and it hasn't given trouble with it (I can provide fusible links if you'd like to go back that route).
- The rear lights and have extra from a junk yard. I also have an extra front headlight.
- It has a newer windshield, replaced right before I bought it.
- The master brake cylinder .
- All the power steering components.
- A freeze plug in the side of the block.
- The headlight components behind the dash, so no worries using high beams.
- The radiator and thermostat.
- The air filter (recently).
- Radio and speakers.
- The passenger side power window motor (for some reason the up and down are reversed but it works perfectly).
The heat and AC both work. It is set up to tow and it appears someone had a fifth wheel on it at some point, but it has been removed and sheet metal put on where it was. There is no muffler and just has a nice, loud straight pipe. A previous owner added a tach, boost gauge and exhaust temp gauge. The interior is pretty good with no cracks in the dash. The seats have covers but aren't too torn up and are still comfortable. The tailgate opens using the tab on the inside of the gate. I changed the oil and filter every 3000 miles and haven't had trouble with it. It has a rear glass protector/backrack that I built and comes with the tool box. This is not a cherry, like-new or perfect truck and I've tried to accurately list the work I've done and what it will need to get on the road and serve you well. Ask me any questions you have about it.
I love this truck and hate to sell it. I have an upcoming overseas move and otherwise would keep it. Setting off car alarms and rumbling down the highway are a joy in this. This truck gets looks and thumbs up wherever it goes and I hope someone who loves Dodges will buy it and enjoy it.
There is no warranty on this vehicle and I will be unable to offer returns or refunds.
