1967 Dodge Charger V8 Sports 2dr Hardtop Description
In 1966 a brilliant young engineer was employed by the National Cash Register Company. He was working out of the Las Vegas, Nevada office, and weekly had duties for the company in Cedar City, Utah, about 175 miles away. Being an avid car enthusiast, he soon struck up a friendship with the manager of the decades old Dodge dealer there. (Lunt Dodge) He planned and saved, and finally special rush ordered his very own 1967 Dodge Charger.
He was an engineer, as well as a muscle car lover, he carefully picked options for how he was planning to use it.
Remember, this was the era of no speed limits out here. You could run flat out thru the open desert without any concerns. So, he ordered it with the 383 Four barrel engine, and the four speed transmission. It has the 3.23 Sure Grip differential, the rallye suspension, and the heavy duty police brakes. He included the Magnum 500 wheels, but left the spare as a regular steel wheel. He strictly wanted a go fast car, not too flashy, so he deleted the body stripe and the center console. Produced on April 19, 1967, he took delivery on May 17, 1967. And this car is still titled to him, this car has only one owner since new.
The car is unaltered mechanically, the engine has never been apart, and it runs like a freight train, just pulls and pulls. Yet, the idle is super smooth and docile. I just replaced the old tires with a new set of 5 Red-Lines and installed a correct Mopar restoration battery. This car drive’s amazingly, has quite light steering, and a great feeling clutch.
The title is still the little early Nevada one, like an old California Pink slip. I have and will include the Broadcast sheet, the CertiCard, the original owners manual, and the service history dates done at the dealer till 1969. Also, he ordered a factory shop manual from Chrysler, it’s still in the Dodge box addressed to him. And I have his handwritten records of the service work and exact miles on the car since day one, when he picked it up with 21 miles on it! Even better, I have his notes on which options to pick, and how much each would cost him, so you can see his mind set and decision making all those years ago.
The Electroluminescent lighting all works in the dash, and the hideaway headlights are flawless. This is NOT a restored car. It’s had one paint job decades ago, but only one adult driver who has lovingly cared for it. It’s one of only 601 383 four speed cars made in the lowest production year of Charger. It’s been in the dry desert since day one.

Totally glad to answer anything questions about anything I might have missed, please ask.
Remember this has been in the Las Vegas desert area since day one; we often go 100 days between rainfall here. There has never been any rust in this car; the floors still have the original paint on them.
