1970 Challenger 440 six pack 4 speed R/T trim
1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Description
Due to injury, I am selling my big block 4 speed 1970 Dodge Challenger with R/T trim. Relisted because of a dreamer who bid multiple times but had no cash. I purchased the car from her previous owner of 30 + years who rebuilt her top to bottom in 1990. She is a 383 big block car from the factory, "L" code, 1 of 952 big block Challenger coupes and 1 of 96 with Cream exterior paint. Radiator support, cowl and trunk area all bear the vin #s of this car which match the title and dash plate. The parts donor car which was wrecked back in the day was an R/T 383 big block 4 speed car, "N" code, 1 of 2720 4 speed big block coupes. Picture included of the donor car. I have BOTH fender tags from each vehicle to back up the facts I am presenting. In addition to the trans and rear, most all the options on the R/T were transferred to this car, as well as parts from other cars that were readily available in 1988-1989. Engine in her now is a properly rebuilt 1971 "G" code 440 ci engine, with an 11/69 date coded cast iron OEM six pack manifold and air cleaner. The center carb and rear carb are brand new from Holley, and the front carb has been rebuilt. Like every other 3x2 MoPar, they can always use a bit more syncronization but she does start, run and drive just fine. She has a 3.23 Sure Grip 8&3/4 "489 chunk" rear with air shocks. 15" Rallye wheels with excellent tires, and front disc brakes. AM FM Cassette radio installed without cutting the dash. Rallye dash functional, with added aftermarket gauges under the radio. The paint is as old as the entire rebuild of the car - 30+ years! Rear quarters were heightened in 1989 to show the entire rear wheel. This is similar to the new generation Challengers. Exhaust system consists of Hooker Pro series headers and original pipes and mufflers off the R/T, done in 1989. She is 49 years old, has her body flaws and minor items typical of her age, yet is a great looking, fun to drive powerful beast. The interior is in really good shape for its age. Headliner good, dash good, door panels and trim good, rear seat good. Frame rails solid and in good shape. Front driver seat has a tape patch on the upper left, and passenger seat has wear at the seams where cracking is occurring. Again, this is a 49 year old car. There are two or three blemishes in the paint and bodywork, see the pics, with the most noticeable bubbling right in front of the left wheel at the bottom of the quarter and lower sill. AGAIN, look at the pics to see.Clutch is good and firm, as are brakes, and e-brake works properly, a big plus in a manual trans car. If anyone has more questions feel free to ask. I will answer promptly. She is insured with Hagerty, whose price guide has this car at $39,000. Selling at No reserve. I can put a buy it now up for a serious buyer - just message me. Please do NOT bid unless you want to BUY. Please ask your wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, banker or whoever BEFORE you bid. If your feedback is poor or weak you need to contact me first or I will cancel the bid. Sorry but no further time to play games. I will assist with your shipper in loading but I do NOT offer delivery. She is also going up for sale locally so I reserve the right to end auction early. Thanks and good luck bidders!
