1954 Dodge Coronet Suburban. HEMI! Oh, So Rare. SEE VIDEO. Description

• 1954 Dodge Coronet Suburban HEMI 2-Door Wagon •
Listed on behalf of the owner.Located near PORTLAND, OREGON.
This rare, 1954 Dodge Coronet Hemi Suburban was sold new in Santa Barbara, California and lived there until 3 years ago. (First owner: 1954-1976. Second owner: 1976-2017.) Always well maintained its entire life, in 2006, the second owner undertook a complete refurbishment of this car, including:• Repaint in correct combination of "Willow Green" body and "Cumberland Green" top.• Re-chroming of parts as needed, and installation of NOS stainless trim pieces.
To increase performance, he replaced the original 1954 241 cubic inchHemi V8 with a fully rebuilt 1955 270 cubic-inch Hemi PowerPackV8 with 4-barrel carburetor, boosting the horsepower from the original 150, to a whopping 193 horsepower. Mated to the 3-speed manualtransmission with overdrive, and 3.9:1 differential, this wagon GOES!
In addition, mechanical work and upgrades included:• PCV system to replace road draft crankcase vent.• Rebuilt front-end and steering components.• New coil and leaf springs.• Re-cored radiator.• Stainless exhaust system.• New driveshaft with upgraded modern U-joints.• Installed 6 volt alternator.• Halogen headlights.• Optima battery.•Auxiliary electric fuel pump added.• New windshield rubber.• Installed re-chromed 1953 Ram hood ornament.
Following completion, this Suburban was featured on the cover of the November, 2006 issue of the Walter P. Chrysler Club nationalmagazine (WPC News.)
Upon purchase in 2017, the current owner replaced the door panels and headliner at a cost of $3,000.
Today, this Suburbanpresents beautifully and drives perfectly. Great power and acceleration. To quote the current owner: "It goes like Hell!"
Whileoriginally ordered without radio or heater from the factory, the current owner has acquired both a correct radio and heater, and they will be included in the sale for installation by the buyer.
This is a perfect rig for vintage camping trips (would easily tow a boat or trailer) and would also make a great business advertising vehicle that can be regularly driven at freeway speeds when desired.
There is little to add. Take a look at the photos, which were just taken for this listing and show the current condition. Also view the video below, to see it running and driving.
