For sale is an absolutely immaculate, 2 owner, 1989 Dodge Ram 250 4x4 with the legendary 5.9 Cummins 12 Valve Diesel engine. This Ram 250 has been an Oregon state truck since new and has just 61,650 actual original miles and is completely unmolested and original. 1989 was the first year that Chrysler collaborated with Cummins to power their Dodge pickup trucks, resulting in a 30+ year partnership that changed the light duty truck world.
This truck is equipped with a 3 speed automatic transmission, cruise control, air conditioning, intermittent wipers, AM/FM Cassette radio and a dealer-installed Flexsteel custom 40/20/40 bench with center console. The interior of this Ram 250 is in incredible shape for its age. The factory rubberized floor liner is completely intact without any major wear or holes. The dash is completely free of any fading or cracking and looks perfect. The steering wheel is perfect with virtually zero wear. The gauge cluster and surrounding faux wood trim is in excellent condition and is not peeling or fading. All of the gauges and indicators work. The headliner and sun visors are also perfect as pictured.
The body of this Ram 250 is incredibly straight. This is an accident free truck with all original panels. All of the panel gaps are nice and even. The doors, hood and tailgate open and close like a new car. The body is 100% rust free. The bed has had a protective rubber mat since new, which preserved the bed floor very well. The bed floor does not have any large dings or severe scrapes underneath as shown. The truck has an older repaint as many of these trucks needed at one point or another due to the failing factory paint. The paint looks very nice with a deep shine and has just a few blemishes here and there from typical use over the years.
The undercarriage of this truck is the nicest I have ever seen for a 31 year old vehicle. The frame rails still maintain all factory chalk and paint markings. The rockers, cab corners, door bottoms, floor pans and bed floor are all 100% rust free and beautiful. There is some minor surface rust on the axles, driveshaft, etc. but no major scaling deterioration.
The 5.9 Cummins 12 Valve is so clean you could eat off of it. There is hardly any grease buildup in the engine bay anywhere. All of the original Mopar decals remain under the hood along with factory chalk markings on the core support and firewall.
This truck runs and drives as well as it looks. The 5.9 Cummins 12 Valve is extremely healthy and is not even close to being broken in. This truck has zero blow-by. The engine is all stock aside from the addition of a Flo-Pro muffler. The transmission shifts smoothly as it should and the 4x4 engages in all positions.
This truck is truly a time capsule and will be sure to impress any Cummins enthusiast.
