1971 Dodge Charger Description

1971 Dodge Charger R/T Six Pack "V" Code - Super Track Pak - B5 Blue - Mr. Norms

1of 98 R/T Six Pack cars with a 727 Transmission. 1 of a handful sold by Mr. Norms Grand-Spaulding Dodge! There are six Mr. Norms R/T's listed in the Registry, with mine being the only B5 Blue one. Five of the six are Automatics. This car was rescued from a 20 year slumber in Los Angeles this past March and very carefully brought back to life this past June. The 440HP block is not the original, but all other Six Pack parts are accounted for. The 727 is also not original to the car, but was just rebuilt by the best shop in the area and performs perfectly.New starter was installed along with the transmission and new torque converter with a slightly higher stall around 2,000 rpm.The Dana 60 is original to the car, which has factory 4.10 gears and posi. The axle was also serviced with fresh gear oil and friction modifier.

The carbs sat too long and were marginal, so I installed a brand new set of Holley's with correct center vented carb. Replaced carbs will go with the car, outers have correct numbers. New fuel pump and filter also completed.New Monroe shocks have been installed at all 4 corners. If reserve is met, I will swap the wheels for a brand new set of 15x7 Rally's from Coker Tire with new 245/60 BFG TA's, rings and dark center caps, which have been on backorder for over a month.

It appears to have only one repaint. It was cherry when the previous owner bought it (I have pics from a photo album) and then developed some rust under the vinyl top, lower quarters in front of the wheel wells, and some small spots on the driver quarter under the paint. I’d replace the vinyl top and leave the body as is, it’s barely noticeable. There is also a spot on the hood under the R/T decal where the paint came off. The car has not even been detailed or buffed and still looks great.

Odometer currently shows 22,517 miles. Odometer showed 21,896 on a 1996 tune-up receipt.Based on how good the original interior has survived and the rust free floors and frame, there is a good chance the miles are original, especially being off the road for the past 20 years and barely driven the 5 years prior. I just took it on a 170 mile car rally to benefit fallen Sgt. Ron Helus of the Ventura County Sheriffs. It didn’t skip a beat and was holding it's own with all the Lambos, Ferraris and GT3’s along Malibu PCH. Water temp barely went past the first line, even idling for long periods, no overflow from the tube. Great consistent oil pressure as well.Always restarted on a dime, very impressive.

Clean CA Title in my name and registration good until May 2021. Registered with period correct blue/yellow plates that have “71” and “V” in them.

Original Spare Tire and jack. Original Owner’s Manual. Reprint of Illustrated Facts and Features Manual included.
