1968 Dodge Dart GTS Description

I reserve the right to yank the listing if it sells locally.

In 1968, udy Claar walked intohis localDodge dealership and ordered this car when he was 57 years old!

I rather think he had good taste in his color choiceand was a good steward of this car holding on to it until he was well into his 80s. Hemust have beena man who loved this machine.

It was finally sold to a man who intended to restore it after his purchase in the 90s butlost interest in it eventually and sold it to the man who did restore it having completed it in 2015.

Shortly after completion, t was placed in competition by him at the 2015 MOPAR NATS in A BODY ORIGINAL and it took second place in that class with 510 points.

I acquired itafter thatandhave done very little to it. I've only driven it about10 miles and it's only been driven about 50 miles since being restored.

A body Darts areSELDOM found restored to this standard. When found, re theyEVERfound in this color and/or at this option level?

The car is equipped with front and rear bumper guards, ender mounted turn signals, ight package, ual side view chrome mirrors, nd tinted glass as well as the aforementioned options above.

The stripe was deleted by Mr Claar at the time of his order and it remains devoid of any stripe.

The engine and transmission are original to the car and yes, oth were rebuilt.

The dash finish and paint, was told, reoriginal to the car (and appear so)reflecting the care it received. Only the plastic chrome was refinished. The VIN tag still looks fresh, oo and, ES, have the build sheet, wner's manual, nd the metal certicard. The fender tag is in place as well. This strongly supports the story that it was always garaged.

I added theHalibrand look, ftermarket15" wheels and a set of 215 65 R15 Diamondback III Radials, reshened the trunk, nd added a space saver spare to allow a flatter trunk floor.

I also have the five 14x5.5 rims that came with the car. The wheelswere painted red when the car was restored. Thefour wheel covers are also included.

Attention to detail is apparent everywhere. It even smells right!

1113 GTS Hardtops with a 383 and Torqueflite were built for 1968 according to one source. Of those, ow many remain 48 years later? Of those, ow manywere builtas this one was?

This is undoubtedly one of the finest big block Darts available and, actoring in the color, hould make this car irresistable to anythinking Mopar fan, body fan, r any musclecar enthusiastanywhere in the world who wants a non run of the mill Dart in a stunning color combo from the golden age of American street performance.

MANY believe the 1968 Dart is the only year Dart to own for a variety of reasons so here is an opportunity for the rightsteward and in RED/PEARL WHITE, OO!Don't be theone who laments letting this very special one get away.
