The car runs, drives and stops fine. The transmission was recently overhauled. Good compression in all cylinders. The carburetor has just been professionally rebuilt, as was the generator and the car has rebuilt / or new brake cylinders and wheel cylinders, and a new fuel pump and water pump. There is new upholstery that was made for the car by the previous owner, however it is not original style to Edsel, but looks good. There is new carpeting and new sill plates are installed. The wagon has the third seat cushions as well. There is new rubber matting installed in the cargo area. Glass is good, vents have bubbles. The bumpers, grille pieces, door handles and taillights have been re-chromed at a cost of $3,000. There are new "Edsel" side lettering on the car
Some repairs have been made to a rusted section of the frame using a section of frame from another 1959 Edsel Villager wagon. The car has new rear shocks. There are some rusted areas in the outer wheel housings.
New wind lace was installed around all doors. The car will need a new backup / neutral switch. I was not able to get an exact replacement so the old switch on the steering column was modified such that the car properly will not start except in Park. But the back up lights will need the switch replaced to work.
The tires have 95% of tread, however they are older and may be dried out such that replacements might be in order. Contact Ted 440-478-6801 if you have questions.
