This is the second Fiat 1500 I’ve had within the past year. I’ve been lucky to have even owned one, much less two. They’re just not very easy to find!
With such a strong resemblance to the Ferrari 250 GT, they’re highly sought after. If you’re reading this, then I’m sure you already know what I’m talking about!
Body designed by PININFARINA.
Check out this nice write-up about the similarities between the two:http://www.curbsideclassic.com/curbside-classics-european/curbside-classic-1964-fiat-1500-cabriolet-the-ferrari-250-gt-wanna-be/
Now, on to the details: This is a major restoration project. Not for the faint of heart. Major rust throughout. Repairable, but The best way to do it would be to remove each and every part of the car, mount it on a rotisserie, blast the body and frame, then start going about patch and repair. I did get it to start with just some fresh gas down the carb. See video in this dropbox folder: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j8ycy04wm82gvgt/AABcDqDmD8awmIaGNW7XH2U5a?dl=0
CLEAR TITLE 3 tires hold air okay, 1 leaks within a day. Like on the last 1500 I sold, I can install new tires for you (at cost) if you’re an international buyer and need the car to roll on and off a transporter, shipping container, etc. No keys but ignition is not locked. If you want me to try and get an ignition key cut, I believe I can pull the key code from the ignition and get it cut for you. (Contact me after the close of the listing to discuss this.) It’s not shown in the photos, but the dash ashtray IS included. Appears to be almost totally complete, but the passenger side front fender stainless trim piece is missing. Feels like it has a 4-speed gearbox. Standard 1500 motor, not an OSCA. Paint code is 155 Rosso (red).
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SEND ME ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE!
******** NOTICE******** $500 non-refundable deposit via Paypal required within 24 hours of auction end. The difference of payment is due within 7 days, but we could discuss arrangments for later full payment when the car is picked up - this needs to be discussed within 24 hours of winning. I've been burned a few too many times, so I'm just trying to protect myself on this one. |
