1971 Fiat Jolly 500 Jolly Description

Fiat’s chairman Gianni Agnelli, asked Fiat to create a car to carry aboard his 82-foot yacht, theAgneta, as a “land dinghy.” As the Jolly was small and light, it could easily be lowered off the boat for local transportation, to see the sights at Mediterranean ports.

The first Jollys were built on the two-cylinder Fiat 500 platform and then modified by the Italian coachbuilder Ghia. This involved removing the roof and doors and adding wicker seats and a fringed surrey top. A version based on the larger 600 soon followed. Production estimates vary, but probably no more than 400 were built, of all types, between 1958 and 1969. They were briefly sold in the United States and are rare here.

This 1968 Fiat Jolly started life out as a 1968 Fiat 500 F and has been fully restored, and converted to Jolly specifications. The entire body of the Fiat 500 was stripped to bare metal, restored, and repainted by craftsmen in Italy. All mechanicals are fully sorted and restored: engine, transmission, suspension, fuel and electrical systems.

Hand crafted wicker interiors, teak floor mats, quality surrey tops, and the gorgeous windshields are fitted to finish the Jolly look.

With fewer than 100 real Jollys estimated to still survive, here is the chance to own one of the coolest small cars ever built, at a fraction of the price of a surviving original.
