1970 Fiat 124 Familiare (Family Wagon) - Runs Great!
1970 Fiat 124 Description
Here's a super-rare, fully-running, 100% awesome 1970 Fiat 124 Family Wagon. Fiat sold a few different configurations of the 124 in America, including the popular 124 Spider convertible. But the 124 Familiare is the rarest 124 in the US. Auto Week estimates that there are less than 20 of these left on the road in North America.
This is a base-model Familiare, with a 4-speed manual transmission, and a 1.2 liter 4-cylinder engine pushing 65 horsepower of vintage Italian muscle. It is rear-wheel drive and features 4-wheel disc brakes.
The interior features two generously-sized bucket seats in the front, and a bench seat in the back that folds down for additional cargo space. We also have an extra set of front and rear seats that we will include with the car. It's actually quite spacious for its size.
The car has been incredibly reliable, only needing regular oil changes. We garage parked it during the Michigan winters for as long as we've owned it. And even though this vehicle is a rarity in North America, it was quite popular in Europe, and parts are relatively easy to source. We will include service manuals.
This is a 1970 car, but the engine is out of a 1969. There are some minor rust spots, as shown in the photos. There is one small hole in the floor (as pictured). The headliner has several holes. The car has been refinished twice (by a previous owner). I do not have an accurate mileage reading, as the engine is not original to the car, and the odometer only has five digits. I know that the odometer has rolled over at least once.
This is really a super-fun car to drive, and a head-turner everywhere we go in it. It pains me to sell; but I hope that it will bring you as much joy as it has brought us. Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking.
