I've had alot of 850s over the last 20 years and this is probably the most solid one I have seen yet. Body is simply unbelievably solid. Previous to me, the floors were completely cut out along with X-Brace and re-done VERY WELL. X-Brace was also stiffened by including longitudinally placed reinforcements...which makes a big difference. I got this as a project and put it all together carefully over the last couple of years. The bonnet lid has been glazed over with something where the grill is towards the top, this is the only modification to original body panels I can find. Don't ask me why....it was like this when I got the car.
Mechanically it has NEW: COMPLETE Brake System (Master Cyl, 124 Calipers, Wheel Cylinders, Front Metal and Rubber Brake Lines, Rear Rubber Brake Lines), Head Gasket, block appears to have been decked at some point (see photos), Rebuilt Carb, Fuel Filter, Plugs (NGK), Oil Change, Centrifugal Oil Filter Cleaned with New O-Ring Installed, Carpet Kit (not glued down so buyer can choose method), Battery, Radiator Flushed.
Runs great. Shifts great. (SEE VIDEO IN LINK) No leaks. No issues. It will need tires as they are old and dry and have flat-spotted some. Radiator overflow cap is missing, I will have overflow to radiator neck tube hooked up tomorrow.
Interior is decent. Someone replaced the dash, but I have the original correct early gauges from the car except the oil pressure gauge. The original fuel gauge needs a new glass window and has a black rim instead of gold. Window scraper trims are there but mounting tabs are gone so do not secure tight. I do NOT have the dash pad. Windows work fine. Seat foam is crumbling but I did replace the driver side foam. NEEDS DRAIN TUBES INSTALLED FROM COWL TO FRONT FIREWALL. I use heater hose..works just fine.
Gas tank is missing...running off auxiliary gas can in bonnet via electric fuel pump with copper fuel line running to engine bay. I have alot of parts that go with the car (SEE LINK TO PHOTOS)...including the gas tank filler tube and cap and filler to body gaskets.
The paint was done to a very good standard many years ago and has held up well. It's not perfect now, but shines very nice. It could stand another polish on the top panels. No areas of rust-through. One small bubble at rear of passenger door, solid everywhere else!!!
Top will need to be replaced. Windshield does have one chip but can be fixed by your local rock repair specialist.
I will have electrical update tomorrow. I do know that headlights, brake lights and turn signals work. Electrical wiring is unmolested. Bumpers are fair and one is missing the front turn signal lens.
OK, here is all the stuff I have to list for all the brilliance in the world:
