1965 Mustang Coupe - Red V8 Nice Shape
1965 Ford Mustang Description
Here's a 1965 Mustang Coupe, 302 V8, C4 trans, Holley 4 barrel carb, Weiand intake, finned Edelbrock aluminum valve covers, Pertronix ignition. Black interior with front bucket seats. Front disc brake conversion. Cragars front and rear. Tires show good tread. Runs and stops fine. Turns over and fires right up. No smoke from engine. Might have a competition cam - not sure but it sounds like it could have one. Very healthy. What a great V8 sound.
Nice thing about this one is that it is solid. New sheet metal was welded in, seam sealed, and painted, including radiator core support, area around gas tank, rear frame supports and more. So many Mustangs of this era on ebay are full of rust and holes, which are mega expensive to repair, but not this one. Floors have been repaired and are solid now. Body is straight and paint is presentable as seen in photos. Some bubbles in finish behind rear wheels and on one door and the usual scratches (but almost no dents at all) one would find on an older car. Certainly has had new paint and body work in the near past, and one would say that overall, this car is straight.
Odometer says 84403 but I would think that it's gone around once so I listed the mileage as 184403.
New parts: front and rear valance, front bumper, gas tank and sender, fuel line, stainless Tri Y headers (imported, based on the Scott Drake style), radiator core support, passenger front inner fenderwell, front bumper supports, plug wire set, rear shocks.
Needs: exhaust - headers are new, stainless units, but that's all there is to the exhaust system. You'll need to attach your favored exhaust system as this car has no exhaust from the headers back. Wiring: engine starts and runs with key but you'll need to connect headlights, horn, taillights, turns signals, etc. Car has no carpet or headliner, both inexpensive purchases. Front drivers seat has split in seat but the rest of the interior upholstery is in nice shape. Dash top just has plastic cover and probably needs to have a full dash pad installed, but you might just want to use adhesive to attach the plastic cover and run with it as it looks new. That's what I would try. Don't know if stereo works or not. Speakers in rear shelf but not hooked up. Needs antenna. I have front and rear window trim. Parking brake cable is not connected and needs parts. Anything else the car needs, please look at the photos.
Cragars are 14 x 6 front and 15 x 8 rear for that classic "Bigs and Litttles" look.
