1966 Ford Mustang Description

1966 Mustang Pony Convertible Matching Numbers with Original Invoice and Window Sticker

Drop dead gorgeous, Tahoe Turquoise, 1966 Mustang Convertible with matching numbers and original invoice and window sticker, 126,859 actual miles, clear title. The exterior color and the luxury interior always bring oohs and aahs on the road and squeals of delight from the ladies. Dependable, standard 6-cylinder, 200 cubic inch engine was rebuilt to burn unleaded gasoline with its C-4 automatic transmission. The 7.25” rear-end was recently rebuilt by a master mechanic, keeping the factory gear ratio. The original owner’s mother custom ordered it in Nebraska and upon returning from the military, drove it to Southern California for his new government job where it spent most of its life. Therefore, body, floor pans, frame rails and torque boxes are in excellent condition with much of the original rust proofing still intact. I have owned it for ten years and keep it in the garage when not driven, covered. In the off season I fill the gas tank, include an additive, change the oil and filters, and on a monthly basis start it up and move it back and forth in the garage. Though not a restoration, other than minor nicks, scratches and normal wear, it looks as it was delivered: décor group, pony interior, painted white accent “C” stripe (this 1966 version did not come with chrome side scoops), clear coat paint, remote driver side mirror, door lights, tinted windshield, wood accents including “woody” steering wheel, full console, powered top, etc., and AM Radio-“Sterosonic” 8-Track. (The 8-track and speakers will need some tinkering to bring up to par). Also, the seatbelt warning light does not work (common) and the fuel gauge reads ¾ when the tank is full. Promoted by Bill Lear of Lear Jet fame, this Stereosonic Player for 1966 Mustangs and Falcons was the first 8-track player installed in an automobile. In addition, scissor jack (and bag) boot cover, a car cover and fender tool mat are included. Though driven (on fair weather days only), this Mustang placed third in a concourse competition in 2006. (I have that among other car show trophies.) This color is awe inspiring. Serious buyers please come out and inspect the car and test drive. Hire an outfit to inspect it if you wish but do it before the auction ends. Shipping, taxes and insurance are your responsibility. I will make out a detailed bill-of-sale.

In the condition description, I meant to write minor "nicks" (not dents) and scratches. Also, the dent is inside the trunk. As to interior colors, I misspelled "Aqua". Note the white "C" stripes (plural) are on both sides of the car that was part of the accent group. That is why this version did not have the chrome side scoops.

Yes, I spelled "dilapidated" incorrectly, reference the original Mustang floor mats. Though a little rough, they are still durable and do the trick.
