And even if you can find another one with all of those things - is it an Original CALIFORNIA CAR that's solid as a rock, this one is. We bought it in San Diego and had it shipped cross country. The photos were taken in San Diego when we bought it a couple years back. Little has been done to it since then.
So let's start with the good things . beyond what I already mentioned. The car runs & drives EXCELLENT. Fires up immediately, drives wonderful. The top is in wonderful condition, we recently had the rear 'plastic' window replaced. So it's beautiful, and crystal clear. We also had a new red top cover/boot made which isn't in the photos. When you peel back the trunk carpeting and look at the 'guts' of this ca, you will see rock solid floor boards that have never been repaired. The car as a whole has an 'older' restoration. Whoever did it, did a very nice job in my opinion. The interior looks fantastic. The heater works - if you would actually be driving the car in a place where you would need a heater. We actually replaced the heater core a year or so ago. Someone added an electric choke, at some point. Which is better, really. Than dealing with the old school hand choke. Wipers work. AM Radio doesn't. Headlights, turn signals, all fine. The dual exhaust sounds GREAT. Just the right about of grumble - but not 'annoying'. It actually sounds a lot faster than it actually is. The motor is essentially a stock 260, perhaps with a mild cam. Whoever did this restoration, from what I can tell, "touched" darn near every part. You can see 'new' nuts and bolts under the hood. The gas tank is new. The dash had been redone, the list goes on. Whoever did it, spent a lot of time and money doing it. We have spent the last couple years taking it to local cruise ins and the like, and people just love it. It has won many plaques.
The bad - now like i sai, i think this is probably an older restoration. I would guess maybe 10 years. And then it's obviously been driven since then. There are the typical nicks, and so forth in the paint. This is not a 100 point show car. The body IS STRAIGHT. But there are a couple spots where they could be 'touched up.' In the engine bay, there's some spotting under there. Underneat, the car is super solid. But naturally, you get that spotting of surface rust on frame rails, and the like. This is completely normal. Road pebbles chip the undercoat and you get spotting and the like. Anyone who has bought a 50 year old car, that's not a trailer queen, knows what I'm talking about here. Message me if you need more explanation. There is a very small oil drip. Very small. Few drips, if i let it sit. I just leave little piece of cardboard under it in the garage. The exhaust tips are chrome, but have some pits/blemishes, probably could be replaced. The dash controls all wor, except for the odometer. It's very strange. When i bought car it worked, it showed like 9500 miles on the car and it worked fine. and then when i hit 10,000... it just stopped working, exactly at 10,000. I can't seem to figure out why. So the odometer says 10k, but it's not accurate. Minor thing really. There is a scratch in the front bumper, decent one, few inches long. Every blemish that I can even think of, in the scheme of things is very minor. The car is just so much fun.
This is pretty much everything i can think of here. The car is located in Charlotte NC - and you're welcome to come and look at it if you like. If you want it shipped, i'll be glad to participate with getting it picked up, but that would be on you. Not interested in trades. We are selling it because we are moving to a new house, and simply will not have the room to keep it unfortunately.
You'll love the car. This kind of car for this kind of money... you'll love it. Message me with questions. Thanks.
