1928 Ford Model A Street Rod Description

We're seeing a growing interest in sedans like this 1928 Ford Model A tudor, ars that offer increased practicality to go along with their increased performance. Offering a cool chopped top, mall block Chevy power, nd a tasteful interior, his Model A street rod gets just about everything right. If you're going to build a rod, ou may as well make it attention-grabbing. The bright Tangelo Orange paint works rather well on the chopped 2-door bodywork and it still retains many of its authentic Model A styling cues. Among those are the windshield visor, nique cowl with bodywork that wraps around it, nd the curving fenders that seem to hug the tires. Chopping a sedan can be a challenge, ut this one nails it with a lowered look that seems sleek, ot boxy, et still provides decent visibility from within. The orange paint is in good condition with signs of use that are to be expected, ostly around the fenders. Striped decals along the lower edges of the body add some contrast and the three-piece hood allows you to run fully enclosed or with open sides for a racier look. The grille shell has had the radiator cap shaved and it is fitted with an accessory grille guard, hile a dropped headlight bar holds color-matched King Bee-style headlights. Custom louvers punched in the splash aprons adds to the hot rod vibe and a bit of custom pinstripe work makes it stand out, ven when you're up close.Basic black is the right choice with the bright orange bodywork, nd this surprisingly spacious tudor offers front buckets and an upholstered package shelf in back, o it's strictly a 2-seater. The dash is still original, ut it's been reworked (there's no longer a gas tank behind it) to hold a tachometer ahead of the driver and to put all the secondary Stewart-Warner gauges in the center. A tilt steering column and Billet Specialties steering wheel make it easy to get comfortable and there's an AM/FM/CD stereo system for entertainment. The seats show some very minor signs of use, hile things like the carpet, oor panels, nd headliner are unmarked and almost new. The former rear seat area is nicely upholstered in matching carpets and houses a pair of speakers for the stereo system and offers plenty of room for baggage on road trips, hich is always a plus.Under that three-piece hood you'll find a 350 cubic inch Chevrolet V8 that's been built to run and neatly detailed. There are a few polished aluminum pieces and lots of details that were painted to match the bodywork, o if you do decide to pull the hood sides for cruising, olks will have something interesting to look at. An Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and polished intake manifold add a little horsepower, hile stock rams horn style exhaust manifolds do a good job of controlling noise and heat, ritical in a vintage rod. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission channels horsepower to a 9-inch rear end, hich hangs on a set of trailing arms and coil-over shocks. Up front, t's pure tradition with a dropped I-beam suspension, ut it does include disc brakes, o it drives more modern than you'd think. Big-n-little polished aluminum wheels look great and fill the fenders with fat Michelin radials. This is a well-built rod that's ready to enjoy, nd if you are tired of fiberglass coupes and roadster, erhaps this will fit you better.
