1970 Ford Mustang Description

I have a 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 project car for sale. We were in the process of restoring it and simply don't have the funds to continue. I bought this car in Atlanta, A in 2011 under the pretense that it was number's matching - which it turned out to be, nd so much more.
The car is a 351 Cleveland 2V/FMX auto. On Mach 1s, his was a slightly rarer option than the 4V. Before it was disassembled for complete restoration, e were able to get the motor to run, nd run strong before the carb flooded, s it was in dire need of a rebuild. I have video of the event for proof. As the disassembly portion of the restoration began, e began to realize just how original this car was. The factory toe tag was still attached to the carburetor, s well as the rear axle. The starter motor, adiator, ater pump, tc. were all original to the car. Everything that has a date code stamped into it matches. It still has the original D code yellow paint on it from the factory. We believe the 29,xxx miles showing on the odometer to be accurate -- not only is the motor all original, f you flip it over on a stand and remove the oil pan, ou can see that the main bearings have hardly any wear on them. It would likely look very different if that 29k showing was actually 129k.
This car needs complete restoration. I do have quite a bit of good new or original sheet metal that comes with the car:
- Hood
- Original doors that are straight with only pin holes in the bottom
- New stone guard
- New fiberglass hood scoop
- Original rear spoiler
- All door glass and hardware
- All chrome trim original to the car, inus the rear bumper which is no good
The car is complete. Everything may not be in great shape, ut everything is there. Interior trim pieces and all. Every nut and bolt.
The car has been torn down to the unibody (equivalent to the frame for old Mustangs) with the suspension left underneath so it can be moved and trailered easier. So far we have completed 95% of the metal work on the car. It has new floors, ull quarters, runk pans and a new taillight panel. Next step would be prepping for body and paint, r possibly soda blasting.
I will show more pictures on request. If interested, mail me for more info.
