Up for auction is an original California black plate 1956 Ford Thunderbird that underwent a complete restoration in the 90's.
I am listing this car for a retired farmer who is a neighbor of mine who has owned the car since 1999.
The car was originally bought in Costa Mesa, California and the restoration was started there.
It was then bought and transported back to the Phoenix, AZ area where the restoration was completed. Included with the car are receipts totaling more than $42,000. It was shortly after this time that the car was purchased by my neighbor and brought to Minnesota.
The car starts, runs, stops, and steers as it should. The car has power windows that work good. Power steering and brakes that also work fine. The radio has been up graded with a newer AM/FM that fits in the original opening.
There does not seem to be any problems with rust (as there shouldn't be on a southern car). The only problem with the car that I can see are a few bubbles under the Thunderbird emblem on the very front of the car that looks to be an adhesion problem that has not gotten any worse with time. The car comes with the port-hole hard top, but does not have a soft top.
I am not an early Ford Thunderbird guy, but to me it looks like a stand up car with all the right pieces.
If you can't answer any question's by looking at the detailed pictures I can be reached at 507-456-2957, and if I can't answer it I will get in touch with my neighbor.
This car is being offered locally so we are open to reasonable offers to end the auction.
Good Luck Bidding.
