1942 Ford pickup
1942 Ford Other Pickups Description
I am 87 years old and it is time to get rid of some of my toys. I have owned this truck for 15 years and it still looks the same as when I bought it. No rust has appeared in the body so apparently it was a pretty solid truck to start with. The body work and paint are strictly amateur.I suspect that whoever fixed it up bought a whole new box and tail gate. Hard to imagine a truck this old with no dents in the box. I installed an old trunk in the box because we used to occasionally take overnight trips and needed a place for luggage. The truck even has the rare rear bumper. Clutch chatters, an old Ford tradition. If you are not familiar with 1942 pickups, this was the first year for conventional 4 spring suspension and open drive shaft that the cars did not get until 1949. The open drive shaft made possible a modification that I love. The truck has hadan overdrive transmission installed. I have been told that the Mercury overdrives from 1949 and 1950 fit the older flathead engines. The truck will cruise all day at 60-65 MPH with no strain. They forced me to put in a mileage but I have NO IDEA what the actual mileage is. For any other questions call 352-472-6463. Florida
