1965 Ford Falcon Futura Description

This is an older build that was a high dollar build for it`s time that still shows very well and draws a lot of attention where ever it goes. Painted Ford Saphire Blue ( most say it`s purple ) w/Crites fiberglass hood. The paint is conservatively a 8-9 out of 10, you would`nt know its 21 years old by the way it looks. It is a full chassis car built by a well known East coast chassis builder with a custom Alston Chassis works 4-link coil over back half rear suspension, A-arm coil over front suspension, certified to 7.50 at time of build, 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes, line lock, 9" rear end with Strange axles, Strange Nodular traction lock center section w/389 gears, QA1 coil overs on all 4 corners, Mildly built 468" BBF ( not the same engine the car was originally built with ). C-6 auto trans, Custom built 2" primary tube headers with 4" collectors and 4" Flowmaster exhaust, JAZ 16 gallon Pro Street fuel cell, dual Optima batteries and much more. The car was built in the Chicago area in 1995 and won firs place at the 1996 Chicago World of Wheels in in it`s division and is reported to have won in 1997 as well. The car has been feathered on the cover of Street and Strip magazine, Summit Racing catalog and featured in several magazines.
I purchased the car from the person who purchased it from the original builder in 2010 and have spent time and money freshening up the car, this is a list of a few things that have been done since we have owned it.
* New carpet with Dynamat sound deadening on the floor pans
* New brakes
* Completely rebuilt rear end, 389 ratio-- center section and housing, bearings/seals/ gaskets, etc..
* Rear suspension completely remove, powder coated with complete urethane bushing rebuild
* Mis. items powder coated
* Complete body seal and felt kit-- ( windshield, trunk and conv. top seals not installed and will go with the car )
* Rebuilt/re chromed wing windows
* re chromed A pillar interior trim
* New electric pusher fan and alum. shroud
* New QA1 front coil overs, new springs on rear coil overs
* Repainted wheel wells and mis. back half portions of the under side ( underside paint as nice as the top side -----reasonably speaking )
* New u-joints and balanced the alum. drive line
* No signs of rust, past or present. The body panels and dash are basically the only part of the original car that are remaining, the chassis and most of the structure of car is custom fabricated.
Known deficiencies,
* Speedometer and blinker cancel currently do not work, windshield wiper motor missing, small scratch in paint on dash below the glove box.
There are a few other things that I did`nt get to/ wanted to do to the car but decided that I would not personalize it to much and leave that up to the next owner. This car can be enjoy`d as is and be assured that this is a good running and driving car. I have to many other projects that I want to do and the wife says something has to go before that can happen. The car does`nt get used as often as it should and it`s time for someone else to enjoy it, I have done my best to honestly describe the car and would suggest to inspect in person prior to bidding.
This is a very nice car with some interesting history that has a very reasonable reserve, feel free to contact me with any questions.
