1964 Ford Falcon Sprint Description

'64 FORD FALCON SPRINT PROJECT ROAD RACE/PRO-TOURING CAR

Engine details 302" to 347" stroker +.030" over. Dyno'd @445ft.# & 425 hp @ 5600rpm. Dyno'd only, print outs available. Engine was completely gone thru ie. bored, decked, balanced, align honed, centerlined. 5140 crank. Edlebrock Air-Gap intake. Edlebrock Performer 6025 heads with 1.90" in & 1.60" ex. 1.72 roller rockers. Hydraulic roller cam. 190cc intake runners. NGK spark plugs(new). Fabricated alu. valve covers(planed) and plumbed for capture scavenging. Sanderson special order shorty headers...2&1/2" collector. Melling hi-volume oil pump. Pypes 2.750"-3.000" stainless X-pipe. New hi-ouput alu water pump. 2" CNC milled spacer "Super Sucker". 100 amp single wire new gen altenator. 7qt. Milodon oil pan. Milodin windage tray. 8.5mm MSD plug wires. 6A MSD. 8582 MSD billet distributor(new) with bronze gear. Alu billet pulleys. Nascar power steering pump w/ remote. Nascar remote billet oil filter manifold. Canton -12 90 degree billet oil filter by-pass. Mocal -12 180deg. oil thermostat. -12 Aeroquip Starlite hoses. Setrab 900 series oil cooler(new) with adaptors. New 3-row alu. radiator w/ electric fan. Ford hi-KW starter. Accusump oil reservoir with electric valve. Polyurethane motor mounts. Builder Holley dbl. pumper(650cfm).

Suspension details Coil-over suspension with Bilstein shocks(custom valved by RCD for road racing) and Eibach springs(450#). Upper control arms reinforced. Shelby dropped. Alu. camber wedges. Lower control arms gusseted and with spherical rod ends. Helwig 1&1/8" chrom-moly sway bar with poly ends and pillow blocks. Fabricated, adjustable strut rod with heim ends and UMHW washers. Set-up for adjutable bump steer. Delta Bay front cross member. Fabricated, adjustable tower supports. Monte Carlo bar and brackets. Ackerman drops(adjustable) with QA1 hi-misalignment heims.

Brake details Original Kelsey-Hayes 4 piston calipers(rebuilt). Power Slot rotors(new). Hawk SS D11 pads(new). New bearings, races and seals. Dan Press LBS1 lock resistant brake valve. Wilwood porportioning valve(new). OE rear.

Steering details ARI rack and pinion(rebuilt) with -an adaptors. MOMO steering wheel(used). Original steering column.

Chassis detail Front of uni-body frame stitch welded thru-out(Holman & Moody style). Subframe connectors. Front floor boards replaced. Imron epoxy polyurethane paint.

Transmission/Drivetrain detail Ford wide-ratio top-loader...2.78,1.93,1.36,1.00. David Key alu. tailhousing. 28 spline output. David Key Hurst Comp Plus shifter with heims(the first for conversion from '64 to '65). Jericho magnesium top plate plumbed for pump/cooler. Alu. bellhousing(6 hole) with Roush-Yates spacer plate. New slip yoke. Transmission converstion mount(original trans. was T-10). Zoom Kevlar HP clutch. Converted to hydraulic throw-out. Original tapered tubed Ford 8" in car now(weak). 2 other housings included ie. 52" Ford 9" housing(big tube) with gusset and 31spline axles(old big bearing), and a big tube ford 8" (54.375"). The 9" has equal length axles. The 8" has the straight 28 spline HD axles. Extra third members...reg. 9" and the heavier gusseted 8"(both open with regular gears).

Wheel and tire details Toyo Proxes T1+ W rated tires(new) 245/55-16(r) 245/45-16(f). Foose Nitro Grey wheels(new).

Seat details Corbeau TRS seats. Black leather, lumbar support(driver only), reclining, safety harness cut-outs, Rear seats eliminated.

Electronics AutoMeter Pro-comp guages...tach(3&1/2") w/ memory and Pro Shift light. Water and oil temp., oil pressure and voltage(2&1/2"). Auto-Rod control panel(new)....starter,ignition,fuel 1 & 2, pump, fan and lamps. HD starter solenoid. HD kill switch.

Body details Delta Bay fiberglass R-style apron w/ brake duct and oil cooler cut-outs. All original steel...straight. Never wrecked. Some rust exists(surface). Trim holes welded closed(approx 70 in all). Drip rails removed. Headlight and tailights pots good and original. Exterior finish is bare metal. I have paint/clear coat for this project...Toyota '14 86GT Cement @ an extra cost, if interested.

Original parts Front and rear bumpers(needs rechroming and repair). Upper and lower control arms. Lots of trim pieces. OE wiring harness. Window regs. 500# OE size springs. Set of roller spring perches. OE sway bar. Motor mounts. Emblems. Door. Glass exc. front wind shield. Heavy 28 spline axles. Tie rods, center link(preferred '65). Upper shock mounts. L & R spindles. Backing plates(r). 2 third members 1 stock light wt. third member and 1 heavier gusseted 8" third member.

Miscellaneous Included are lots of Aeroquip fittings, hose, -4 tube nut sleeves(brakes), braided lines, overflow tank,

Disclosures The back of the car(b pillar) hasn't been worked on.Torque boxes are very good, but there is some evidence of corrosion in the interior behind front seats...not perfect, not bad. Rear trunk moulding profile needs replacing(have replacement). Top of left rear upper quarter panel needs patch(approx. 9 sq.in.). Bondo'd repair underneath RR window. 31spline axles are 5on5"(need converting).

Overview I left this build at a cross road. Originality can be restored, for the most part. I feel that the build hasn't butchered any direction. Car was last on road in the 90's. Rear suspension is OE,,,goal was a Watts Link. This is an original 4 speed/260cu.in./bench seat car. I'm selling do to injury and unable to complete.
