1973 Ford Mustang MACH 1 Description

1973 FORD MUSTANG MACH 1…EXCELLENT CONDITION!!

This MACH 1’s VIN is 3F05H259846. I purchased this car from the third owner in July, 2016. The second owner only put about 1000 miles on the car over a 10 year period when the third owner purchased it in 1997. The odometer had 44292 original miles on it at that time. The current, ORIGINAL, mileage on this MACH 1 is 48,661. The body is very straight and is rust and bondo free. It was repainted at some point by the second owner and the paint is holding up extremely well. It is VERY smooth and shiny. The Doors, Hood and Trunk open and shut like new. The windows open and close with ease. Notice that ALL body panels have excellent alignment and fit as new, with correct gaps at all points.

The previous owner’s goalwas to achieve a drivenconcourse correct, quality restoration. In December of 2004 the engine was rebuilt, balanced, and blueprinted. The original engine, a 351 Cleveland 2-V, was rebuilt as a 4-V with the correct intake and heads. The heads were reworked for better breathing, bigger valves were installed with porting and relieving. The replacement cam has just a little more lift and duration over the stock cam. It was fitted with NEW, correct rods, pistons, rings, and bearings. The Cooling System was completely rebuilt including a new water pump and heater core. The radiator was changed over to a 3 core for optimum cooling. The ignition includes a new distributor with Pertronix electronic ignition, Mallory cap and wires.

The steering, suspension, and brakes were all completely rebuilt. You can drive this car down the road at highway speeds with your little finger. It does NOT wander all over the road like many from this era do. The rear end was changed to a3.25 limited slip (posi-traction) as the Cleveland needs a few moreRPM's to run at its best. The C6 Automatic Transmission wasrebuiltat 46000 and a mild street shift kit was installed. This gives the car a positive, immediate shift as opposed to “slipping” into the next gear. The 235-60-15 tireshave about 700 miles on them and are mounted on15 inchperiod correct Cragar SS wheels in EXCELLENT condition. The fuel tank and sending unithas beenreplaced with the correct original type along with stainless steelfuel, brake and transmission lines.

Other Options include Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Deluxe MACH I interior, Convenience Group, Console and Original, working AM-FM Radio. The interior is in EXCELLENT shape. The carpet is new, correct MACH 1 carpeting. The dash pad and steering wheel are new, NOS Ford parts. The seats and covers are original and like NEW! ALL of the knobs and controls are like new. ALL of the gauges, except the clock, are in working order. The front and rear bumpers, and bumper guards, are original and were triple plate rechromed. The rear bumper rubber strips are Ford originals. The original Owner’s Manual and Warranty Card are included.

This MACH has been restored to Mustang Club of America (MCA) Occasional Driven Standards and is VERY close to Concours. Look closely, correct Ford gas cap, steering wheel, AM-FM Radio, interior, glass, trim…all original and New Old Stock Ford parts were used to complete the restoration. Notice that the wiring under the hood is correctly colored and has not been painted over like you see in many cars. There are NO drips from the drivetrain anywhere under this MACH!! This MACH has been well cared for, well maintained and garaged all of its life. It RUNS GREAT--LOOKS GREAT—and DRIVES GREAT!

Take a look and see for yourself. This year and model MACH I is appreciating rapidly and becoming much harder to find. Very few are in this condition----ready to show or drive…or both! I bought this car from a friend with the intension of reselling immediately, but it runs and drives so good I decided to keep it awhile. I took it to three shows and received three First place trophies! Winter is coming and I need a project car so I am selling it at this time. This beautiful EXCELLENT condition MACH 1 is priced to sell fast! The Reserve is well below the market value, please do not ask what the reserve is. Also, I am not interested in trades.
