1947 Ford Roadster Pickup
This is a one of a kind, full custom hand built Roadster Pickup.
If you are a fan of Street Rodder, Rod & Custom, Hot Rod magazine or a few others you have seen many articlesand features on the build of this amazing truck. The builder of this truck is Kev Elliot and he was the tech editor for these and many other magazines over the years and a high qualitycraftsman.
The build was started back when Kevin lived in England and finished once it was shipped to the good 'ol USA. The car started life as a 4-dr sedan so everything you see was all hand made. The front clip is GM with narrowed fatman tubuler arms and disc brakes, the rear clip is also GM which now runs a Currie built & installed 9" ford rearend with Currie heavy duty 4-link and QA1 coilovers. The engine is a crate Chevy performance small block with turbo 350 trans, with everything brand new. Custom GM style cross flow radiator with electric and mechanical fan (never runs hot) The Lift off top is aluminum framed and skinned (4 bolts and it comes right off and fits in the bed) was fabricated by Jimmy White and "Kiwi' Steve and then covered in Mercedes fabric by Loyola interiors in Gardenea CA. The truck is painted Indian Bronze Pearl in a 2 stage urethane. The shifter is by lokar as well as the polished hand brake. The seat folds forward for storage behind and has seatbelts.
I have this truck listed for my pops, he is 76 years young and has owned the truck for about 2 years. In that time he has taken it to the next level. He smoothed the front bumper and had it plated, had the custom one off rear bumper plated, Installed electric wipers, installed heat w/defrost, the wing windows are fixed although the side windows roll up and seal, the window and latch handles are 49 Ford. Speedo and clock have been rebuilt, a Am-Fm Cd was installed, interior was fully insulated, new carpet and door panels, the door panelshave 50 olds Rocket trim installed. LED tailights, 47 ford parklights, New steel wheels, tires, caps & rings. Car was also completelyrewired with modern fuse panel.
