1969 Ford Galaxie Description

1969 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible - I bought it out a Museum 10 - 15 years ago, hey claimed it was original miles. I had to flush the gas tank and drain all fluids and replace before I started it up the first time. When I bought it everything was stock except for Gabriel HiJacker Air Shocks in the rear and Cherry Bomb Glass Pack Mufflers. I put the modern steering wheel on it since the original was cracked pretty bad. I also added the Torque Thrust Rims and BFG Tires about 1,000 miles ago. When I got it running, t wouldn't idle, o after rebuilding the Carb twice (same issue) I bought a new 2 barrel for it, added Pertronic electronic ignition to get rid of having to set the points.I replaced most of the rubber since it had dry rotted over time, nd started working on the chrome either rechroming (front bumper) polishing, r replacing (wheel well trim) Very hard to find NOS parts. I have 2 NOS Tail lights and the "Eyebrow" chrome pieces that go over the top of them, have not worked on the very rear of the car's chrome yet. It brought home a 1st place trophy in a local car show for the "People's Choice" (how often do you see a 69 Galaxie Convert ?). A Unique Ride !!! It is not a show car, t is not perfect, ut it has personality, nd is quite nice !

A 302 with a C4 auto powers this land yacht. It has Power Steering, ower Brakes, ir Conditioning (never used it) and a AM Radio, which quit working). A Power Top will ease raising and lowering the convertible top, ut I generally leave it down, ince it's parked in a heated garage, nd why drive a convertible if you need the top up ???

It was born Red with a Black Top (see Marti Report) and the paperwork I found in it said an Air Force Officer was the original owner and the Museum never put their name on the title, hey just used dealer paperwork.

Transmission was professionally rebuilt about 1,000 miles ago - same time that I put the new rims and tires on it.
